Since 2019, Nashville residents have been patiently waiting for a determination about whether Nissan Stadium would be demolished or renovated. In 2022, debate between Amy Adams Strunk, Burke Nihil, Nashville Mayor John Cooper, Tennesse Governor Bill Lee, among others was in full swing. After discovering a renovation to Nissan Stadium would cost $1.8 billion, while a new stadium would likely cost $2.1 billion, Titans Owner Amy Adams Strunk stated she did not want a renovation, but instead wanted a new stadium. In October, the funding proposal and renderings from Manica Architecture were released, with a tentative opening date in 2026.
In this video, we'll go start to finish from when the Oilers moved to Nashville to when groundbreaking might take place. Follow along for the full story of how we got here and the reasoning behind the decicions that were made.

Amazingly in Atlanta we don't like anything old.... We improve Fulton county stadium then immediately built the Ga Done. Ted Turner said since the braves going to the world series every year we had to build Turner Field. Since then( 1996 ) we have torn down the Ga Dome ( home of Tenn.titans one yard Superbowl lost) and built Mercedes-Benz stadium 1,000 ft away.and told my wife the braves going to want a new stadium and they got one one year later. Been in a winning world series against my Astros....karma twice....Ga. state 5 year football program now plays in the renevated Braves stadium downtown...

@Foxstar1387
@Foxstar1387 Жыл бұрын
Depends on if anyone buys the Bucs from the Glazers. Once they loose the cash cow of Manchester United. The Glazer family will have alot less easy cash flow coming in. So they will yet again lean 100% on the State. Since they dont like to spent a single penny of infrastructure. Its highly unlikely a new house will be built without the state or a new owner. Plus the NFL is still happy to keep handing the bowl out to them.

Great video, but this is a colossal waste of money and other resources. This cannot be long term sustainable. The current stadium isn’t going to make it to its 30th birthday. I’m not an NFL fan, but if I went to a game I’d be focused on the action on the field and food options. Maybe refocus efforts onto the average person who wants to see the action and get decent food at a decent price, not having the flashiest and shiniest new stadium only to tear it down in 30 years and repeat.

That is wonderful, I am all for that. But you did not mention what the new parking situation was going to be. Do you have any information on this? As a PSL holder since 98, I can tell you a vast majority of people drive to the game from outside the city proper. Are they planning on building parking garages somewhere?
@LaBreeceTV
@LaBreeceTV Жыл бұрын
The metro council is studying what exactly they will do regarding parking right now. The team has made it clear that it is Metro's responsibility to figure it out. They are studying construction of a parking garage and evaluating the current availability of privately controlled parking lots and if they were would be demand for a shuttle service. Cities lIke Indianapolis and Atlanta deteremined there were enough random privately controlled parking lots that the stadium didn't need its own parking. There is a building code requirement however that mandates a certain amount of open space around the stadium, but Minnesota met this requirement by building a plaza and Atlanta did it with green space.

Hey, I didn't listen to the video, but I do wish the city of Nashville and the Titans well. Dome stadiums can be somewhat problematic, they're great venues to host events , and they are a source for community pride. However, you will find in most cities they sit idle for a large number of days during the year. Although most owners or operators of these domes won't admit it, the cost of maintaining these facilities can be exorbitant . I've been to a number of N.F.L stadiums and have found Titans stadium to be very nice .So, unless there is something unknown to the general public, hey ,in these inflationary times if it ain't broke why fix it? If this is another case of keeping up with the jones, well thats another issue. I know this, if indeed this is built , ticket prices are going through the roof. At some point the average fan is going to be priced out of going to games. Good luck Nashville.

The biggest issue I have with the new Titans stadium is going to be parking. The new stadium will be built over the current parking lot. The current stadium will be demolished and will have buildings and commercial development around the stadium. How will parking work? Will we have to pay to park in downtown Nashville and walk across the Cumberland River? That's what I want to know.

We are just getting wasteful really. Nissan Stadium is essentially a similar design to several others that opened in the late 90's and early 2000's, but apparently it will be the first of those to go. I understood getting rid of the multipurpose cookie cutters even before they were totally worn out, they were undoubtedly inefficient for baseball and football trying to handle both. But this place probably could have made do with some upgrades. Now everyone has to have a palace like Jerry World or So-Fi. Even though people are going there for 3-4 hour football game not to live.

Whatever you do PLEASE do not build a dome stadium. The NFL is quicklly becomming the arena league and long gone is the uniqeness of each NFL game based on the city they were played in. Now its just games played on a sounstage. I expect that everyone gets excited when ther there is a snow or raing ame on TV. I certinally do. A compromise is what they did in Miami where the fans are protected the the game is still played in the elements.

If an alternative site had been chosen, the new stadium could have retained elements fans now embrace. First, parking. Parking will basically be eliminated it appears, opting to "bus" fans in from locations across the river. Naturally, tailgating will be eliminated, while promoting an organized tailgating area, operated by the stadium, and charging fans to enter. Last, with available space being minimal, I fear the stadium will be built more "upright", with seats angling up at a much steeper angle than the current stadium. I have sat in this type stadium and don't think fans will like it. Essentially, the stadium goes "up", instead of "out", having a smaller footprint and less capacity. Seating is eerily steep. But, we'll see I guess. It will be sad to see fans lose parking, tailgating and viewing comfort, all to force the stadium in a too-small parking lot, when simply relocating a short distance would provide room for a nice, open area, that keeps the good and eliminates the need to give up so much.

I'm sure some it may but this says a lot about humanity this is not a priority to raise your taxes for a stadium
