• Tire Pressure and Maintenance: Proper tire pressure (42 PSI for most Teslas) is essential. A portable compressor can help maintain this, and rotating tires regularly is advised for longevity. • Timestamp: Watch from beginning • Chill Mode to Save Tires: Using chill mode can save tire wear due to the electric motor’s torque. It makes acceleration smoother and extends tire life without sacrificing performance significantly. • Timestamp: Watch from 1:44 • Use of Tesla Service and Parts: Highlighted the importance of utilizing Tesla’s service centers for parts and maintenance, including replacing missing clips and parts. • Timestamp: Watch from 2:58 • Wiper Blades Replacement: Recommends replacing wiper blades every 1-2 years. A specific brand offering long-lasting replacements with additional wiper strips was mentioned. • Timestamp: Watch from 4:27 • Cleaning Interior Windshields: Emphasizes cleaning the inside of windshields, especially for smokers or vape users, to improve visibility. • Timestamp: Watch from 6:55 • Cabin Air Filters Replacement: Suggests replacing cabin air filters with HEPA filters for better air quality and to avoid musty smells. A kit including tools for easy replacement was recommended. • Timestamp: Watch from 9:14 • AC System Maintenance: Cleaning the AC condenser and replacing the cabin filters can significantly improve the efficiency of the AC system. • Timestamp: Watch from 10:48 The video emphasizes low-cost, easy-to-perform maintenance tasks that Tesla owners can do themselves to keep their cars running efficiently and extend the life of various components.

Great video. Glad to see you can service the condenser without taking off the bumper. There is a video of this same service on KZfaq, but the guy took the bumper off...I was shocked that this was happening. Now I see its simple and that was over kill. This is a great video for that reason. That tire pressure tool is what I need. Thanks for that. Agreed, driving habits play a high part in tire ware. Quattro Audi with 40/60 all the time..with torque vectoring..if I drive to aggressive..bye bye 45k life. Sport mode is not a friend to your tires.

A few times a year I remove the wiper blades, clean them and apply 303 Protectant to the wiper blades. Makes them last a lot longer. There is a hidden 3rd clip for the AC condenser behind the right lower clip (driver side) It will allow you to pull the panels further apart for deeper access to clean between the two panels. Wedge something in there like a screwdriver handle to keep the panel gap open.

Suggestion when replacing the wiper blades: Place a towel between the wiper arm and the windshield. Should the wiper arm slip when trying to insert the new blade, it won't go crashing into the windshield glass and possibly cracking the windshield. PS, thanks for the tip that you can manually move the wiper arms when in wiper service mode beyond the couple of inches it raises up when you hit the (virtual) button. I just washed my Y this week and had a devil of a time trying to clean the wiper blade (driver's side in particular) using the default position of wiper service mode.

Thanks, informative and entertaining! The wiper blades look very easy to swap out. I'm embarrassed to say this is something I struggle with on some vehicles...some weird spatial-reasoning brain-block, I dunno. I'm a _reasonably_ handy person but I when it came time for wiper blades on previous vehicles, I would usually get the oil-change place to do it (at my next oil change) rather than attempt them myself. I would feel a bit silly going there in my Tesla, so I'm glad to see it's something I can tackle, LOL.

If want to actually clean off the coil you’ll need to remove the bumper facia and pull that shroud off. There is another plastic grill or idk what to call it. Actually I’d call it a leaf catcher. It will have the majority of the debris trapped all the way at the bottom. It’s a real pain but it seems to greatly improved my ac efficiency getting all the junk out and hitting it with a couple coats of coil foam and a rinse.

Excellent video, can you do one for the X so I can learn how to do that on the X?
@dyhppyx
@dyhppyx 9 ай бұрын
I recently did some research into the EV s chewing through tires idea. Turns out it is not because of the weight of the car. It became an issue because the model s and x have air suspension and when they are set to low the negative camber is insane. On model 3 and y without air suspension and if they are aligned properly. That part is key. Tires don't wear much different than normal cars. I currently have gotten 55k miles on my tires on my 3 performance and love to accelerate hard. So basically I'm saying this whole issue is a big misunderstanding.

@zahf6484
@zahf6484 9 ай бұрын
Curious to see what research this is. Yes, the camber obviously decreases the life of the tire drastically but to proclaim weight isn’t a factor disagrees with basic physics, and disagrees with the average feedback from model 3 and Y owners ( it’s a pretty huge sample size).
@dyhppyx
@dyhppyx 9 ай бұрын
@@zahf6484 just look at the weight of the 3 vs any competitor. Bmw 3, Benz c or e class. They are all around 4k lbs. Weight is a factor but some EVs weigh the same as ice cars so what are we talking about...

Thank you so much for the video. I have a 22 MYLR and we have as bout 66,000Klm on it. So about 40,000 miles. But we love it. How do we know if the filters need be replaced?

sometimes you get a weird smell but I would replace yours asap. either do it yourself or have Tesla do it I bet they are a mess after that many miles. the ones we changed in this video were only after 1 year

Most service centers for ICE recommend based on mileage..I would guess EVs are no different. You definitely need to replace and clean your engine bay probably.
