need something fruit based like jam, tamarind paste, a wine based sauce, crushed berries, apricot nectar, etc..but clearly honey is the next best thing apart from syrup haha. Although some people just love putting butter on their pancakes with a bit of sugar & cinnamon with the butter...maybe even peanut butter you could use too

When I was younger, I worked at McDonald's. There was an older couple who came in every morning. When they ordered pancakes, they would get a side of the frozen yogurt, and put it on their pancakes.

@@stellahmoon is condensed milk what is commonly used in a lot of those whipped icing toppings on the Japanese fluffy soufflé pancakes? It would make sense because the consistency for a lot of those syrups is very meringue-ish in consistency sometimes.

I used to take mini frozen microwave chocolate chip pancakes, and use them instead of bread for Turkey sandwiches with Processed American Cheese and Mayo. It was freaking amazing.

In the UK (Northern Ireland) we serve fried pancakes with our “English / Irish breakfasts” which are always served with beans. Great combo, so I’m with you boys

In Norway, they put sour cream and jam on pancakes. When I visited my friend that lives there, he showed me. I was really anxious about it being super gross and reacting rudely, but it was surprisingly good!

Their pancakes are also more like crêpes. Way more thin than American pancakes.
