I'm 59 and I think that from 1965-1975 was the Absolute Greatest amount and quality of music in history...There is nothing so good even close that could be compared to it...Never ever again...Todays stuff is mechanical noise and 💩 that belongs in a garbage 🗑...

There are many good musicians, songwriters and singers also now. Problem is that they are little known because they are not part of the mainstream. One has to search for those gems, but they exist. ;)

Almost every body within our age says always the same even here in Brazil for Brazilian music. My impression is that people's mood at 60's and 70's are alike more calm and hopefull and this is reflects in the music's and arts in general. The tempo, the way to play instruments, the harmonies were all diferent of today's mainstream songs. And for sure rock'n'roll and soft rock balads had it's place. To dont tell about much better and meaningful lyrics.

Truly a Great American Band that we can all be proud of. To think that I was a grade school kid when they first hit, by the time I was a teen, they had become a household name. So Happy to know they're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with all the others. They also crossed over into Country. They Never did the Country's name any harm either. They Brought Their Best! Everyone here is saying the same thing basically. There is PURE MAGIC in this music, and it is absolutely timeless, and brings us so much joy when listening to it even today… That era was the greatest musically, and produced the best music of all time for sure, NO contest! Oh the memories of time gone by! So great we can hop on the Time Machine called music - a quick listen to a tune and, even for just a few moments, we're back there. Some songs are easy to play, like the song A Horse With No Name but the vocal harmonies in the song are something hard to duplicate, i love the simplicity of those acoustic guitars, all the songs are beautiful, this kind of music is forever, thanks for sharing,

My Favourites are "Ventura Highway" ,"A Horse with no name" ,"Muskrat love" ," I need you" ," Another try" ," Lonely People" ," Tin Man" ," Daisy Jane" ," Right before your eyes" , "You can do magic" , "Woman Tonight" but the major of their songs are GREAT and it' s not easy to choose between one song and another in their discography...They are really GOOD SINGERS and MUSICIANS...

My neighbor turned me on to America , he had their first album. A few of my favorites Another Try, Hollywood. So many. I just saw them in AC last year, around this time. Best show was the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. All instruments, tubes,xylophone, shakers, it was great. Came out in jeans and t shirts. They announced there was no smoking, but you could eat whatever you want..This was in the late 70s. I am 65 now and still love listening. Thanks, RIP Dan Peek.

I started bricklaying when I was 16 !!! Saw them in Cocoa Beach at Lori Wilson Park back in the day. They had a car show. Brought the Corvette in. Totally awesome small beach venue. Then more recently at the King Center in Melbourne. Would go again.

When I was listening to Horse with No Name in '72 and taking some pill I saw a funeral tripod with a wreath that was a peace sign. This was after my return from 'Nam.
