Rhoda's hair and clothing at the beginning were so great. Love how she does her bun. Later with the red and black hair tie was also really cool. She's a great dresser. Brenda trying to get the others to lose self confidence due to bad breath or a run in their stockings was rather low, I didn't like that.

This show was cancelled midseason because producers lost sight of what direction the show should go in. They knew, when the return of Martin and Ida, the ratings continued to decline . The Neilson ratings were paramount in determining the fate of the shows life expectancy. How do they gauge what viewers are watching is a frightening point. How did/do the networks know what each family home is watching at any given time. There has to be a type of invading people's privacy in order to obtain this information. How come everyone has accepted the fact that there is an organization keeping tabs on certain aspects of our day to day lives. Does it stop there, or does this organization (government?)know much more about us than we think. 🤔😱🙄
@RepentfollowJesus Жыл бұрын
People voluntarily join the Neilson group. I dont know how you get to be a part of it though. I always said nobody ever asked what shows I like. Even back before satellite and cable. I dont see how just a few people can determine what the whole country prefers.

I can't stand the Simpsons anymore, I liked the first few years but can't watch it now. The thing that is kind of unfortunate about Julie Kavner is that she is antisocial to the point where she fiercely guards her privacy. Valerie Harper stated many a time that Julie always hated being recognized in public. She's incredibly talented but is one of those actors who has a disconnect between the public (who love her work) and the work she does. Oh well, Hollywood is weird.
@suzannelundberg385 Жыл бұрын
yes I read her up on wikipedia out of interest. I liked her character even more than Rhoda in the beginning, however, she needs a foil character to exist as she is (i.e in Rhoda). She is the voice of Marge Simpson and or the aunts. She's nearly vego. I would say she is not the usual hollywood type (making me appreciate her more, but each to their own ...)
@RepentfollowJesus Жыл бұрын
Stars get harassed so much in public and often wind up with stalkers. Even news anchors. I dont blame her a bit for keeping her life very private. News papers and magazines rip celebrities apart over any little morsel they get. More power to her.
@theiceman69416 ай бұрын
There's no reason why we, as total strangers, should know about her private life. I wouldn't say she's weird because of this; it's just not common is all.

Yes, she looks anorexic in the green top. If you really look at her in the show she is too thin. I was once underweight and I see the same bones on her I saw on me. Brenda is the perfect weight in this season. I wonder if Rhoda was ill or went through an eating disorder. She later went back to normal at least.

This wasn't the Brenda we know and love. This was some lowdown jerk sabotaging the other girls. Rhoda and Ida created a Frankenstein monster bent on winning by any means, LOL. Dopey script writing strikes again. Kit McDonough (playing Cathy Davis here) could have been the lead in her own sitcom in the late 1970's. She was _always_ solid in any show she appeared in. Good timing, funny voice.

it is a big change...one has to be into 70's music to be able to guess where the producers were going with that...but if you listen to the first one over and over, for me... it started getting on my nerves. they were introducing some more serious themes and the music around was changing as well, is my guess...
