Detroit Skater since 1971. I noticed the two guys in black at the beginning did a couple of classic Detroit style moves from the early to mid 70s. I remember taking those moves to the rink called Skatetown USA in Hollywood in 1981 while on winter break (Grambling). Some of the cast from the movie took good notes, because when I came back they were on it.

Hey, I've been away for a while and I wanted to chime in. Rollerdance is a program and term created by Richard Humphrey. It is where routines like the "Downtown" come from. If you type in rollerdance.com you will see Richard's website and the work he's done. Skate dance is what people call dancing on skates sometimes. It's not a trademark and doesn't refer to something specific. If you google skate dance, some modern skate influencers pop up. If you want to hear more about the story, I speak about Richard Humphrey on my roller skating history KZfaq "Rhythm Skating". You can check it out and hear the history of roller dance.
