Holeee Cow what a beautiful and talented fiddle player!!!! She could play in any band I 've played in (3 of em.) We have a 16 y o local girl who could play in any Bg band. Her mature talent goes ahead of her years. What will she be like when she's 21?

Great musicians, great bluegrass songs... but there’s something missing. One thing you learn the hard hard way is that you don’t play Jimmy Martin songs without a banjo. Sorry, but it just doesn’t matter how many all star pickers you put up there... Manzanita-grass ends up sounding empty.

Richard wanted to be Tony so bad lol and I want to pick like Grisman .

Manzanita is better than anything Jimmy ever did

@@bhr788 “Better” is a very subjective, personal term. There are people who would say that the Stanley Brothers were “better” than anyone else. To me that would be absurd, especially considering how bad some of their live festival recordings are... just awful picking on some of that stuff. My point was more about the songs in the video. Traditional bluegrass songs and the way they are presented here. For whatever reason, guitar guys like Bennett and Rice wanted to do bluegrass songs without the essential, foundational element; the five-string banjo. To my ears it sounds hollow to do that. A lot of the “Manzanita” stuff is NOT bluegrass, and that’s ok - it is still great music.
