Richard Childress drives the famed #3 in which Dale Earnhardt scored his final win, at Talladega in 2000 during the Winston 500.
What you hear is Richard talking about both Ty Dillon's and Dale Earnhardt's cars, followed by the live MRN Radio call, followed by a snippet of Dale Earnhardt's final win.

Remember watching that race and was so dejected when I saw that 3 coming up and that he won but now, all these years later. I'm so glad he won. That was his last win and he did in remarkable fashion!! I rooted against him cause I am a Blue Oval guy but man oh man, I miss Dale Earnhardt so much!!! He was one HELLUVA RACE CAR DRIVER AND PERSON!! Nascar would be so much better now if he had lived.

Thank you Richard for that number three my first ever live race I got to see the Black 3 and it rained and I didn't get the finish the race but seeing the black three was worth every inch of time rest in peace intimidator 3

Glad I was there too see Dale take that badass hot rod too victory lane and I was there too see Richard drive that sweet hot rod around dega again!

No they don't. There's a reason we don't use these cars, and it is directly related to Dale.

@@d_byrd, was it really the car, or was it just the lack of a HANS device and the seat belts that killed Dale?

@UCwKaNUwRtI0Dof3QspyhtPw Not only the HANS device (which actually did exist at the time; Dale was one of the few drivers that refused to use it), but also the safety features on the car that didn't exist yet. Earnhardt bars, the Newman bar (which actually saved Ryan Newman from further injury in this year's 500), and tons of other safety features that came with the COT. These cars belong in museums, not on the racetrack.

@@tomdalfonzo9959 Most likely not, as the cars were built different then and the chassis wasn't made to fit things that didn't exist yet. Not to mention all the regulations that would stop these cars for ever racing in NASCAR again. We've always got racing sims, though.

Jeff Gordon has stated, many times, that when the black #3 was in his rear-view mirror, he instantly knew that things were going to get very serious. Nobody ever dared to mess with "The Intimidator." When they did, they would soon regret it.

Thank You, Richard for ALL that you've given to the sport of racing! It's always so cool to see that black #3 on the track. It's just not the same with out "The Intimidator" in that driver's seat. We miss you Dale...RIP!

I would love to know if Dale Earnhardt Sr car still has the big black tiered mark on that car. Racing is not the same without Dale Earnhardt Sr

No it doesn't that was the car there and after he won the race at Talladega in 2000 in that car they took it back to the shop cleaned it up and put it in the RCR museum

Think they intended to use the car the next year. No one thought it would be Dale's final win so they never thought to preserve it in race state. Edit: I may be wrong, but I think that car ended up being one of the backups they brought to Daytona in 2001.
