We're fortunate to be alive on Earth, but the vast majority of life never gets that chance. Death awaits us all, and the rest of the universe seems indifferent. It's a humbling realization ....

How about the holocaust victims? Were they lucky? Wouldn't it be better never to have been? And i can think of some many more similar tragedies... This is nonsense

I like Richard Dawkins but this quote is a nonsense, I can't believe how such an intelligent man can say such a stupid thing, how may we be lucky ones because we were born? If we are wealthy, rich, sure it may be, but what if we are not? What if our life is miserable (just as most of the people who've ever lived)? As if we would even be deprived of anything if we weren't born, how existence can be objectively better than non existence? It cannot. We are going to die and that makes us the (un)lucky ones.

Most people want to believe in lies that is why they can't understand your point. You are right but you will always be the minority
