If you're 70, I guess you have a fair right to call the Rams your nemesis since you lived through the 1970s, when the Rams had the 49ers number. For me, who only started watching football as young Rams fan in 1981, the scales have been sadly unbalanced during my time. The 49ers are something like 56-27-1 against the Rams since 1981, including the horrible 17 straight losses during most of the 90s.

My late father grew up going to Kezar every week, and also felt like the Rams were the old nemesis. I'm bummed at the way the Niners went out, but glad the rivalry has juice again.

Niner fan here. Rams made the plays when they needed to. Deserved to win. Now they need to finish off the Bengals and bring the trophy back to the NFC west, where it belongs.

Yes, Stafford had Calvin in Detroit.. that was LITERALLY all they had. no running game to speak of.. low to middling defense and offensive line. you cant win with just a QB and a WR

A tip of that hat to the Rams defense last two series. That’s was the difference. Both teams didn’t play a perfect game. My Niners as a team couldn’t get it done up 10.

Rams don't make it to Superbowl with Goff. Stafford throws some interceptions, but has more heart and courage under fire than Goff ever had.

Rams were gone for 20 years from LA. It's going to take time to rebuild the fan base. I think a lot of the younger generation became 49'r fans during Ram's absence , just to pick a California team. and not wanting to be a gangster Raider fan. Some fans like me are old enough to have have followed the Rams all of their lives , even when they were in St. Louis.

Yes sir I was born in 1995 I was a niner fan since I was 7 and I didn’t like the raiders because where I live in the San Fernando valley in LA it represents a lot of gangs and I always liked red so I was a niner but when Rams came to LA I had to choose the rams over the chargers just because of there logo and till this day die hard rams 🐏 fan but still have love for the niners !

That was a brutal physical game by both sides. At least for this era's NFL. Staffford was bloody and bruised up. Rams D-line took over the 4th and showed how dominate they can be. Tip my hat to the 49ers, as always a street fight game and very proud that 50 rushing yards were all they gave up. I don't want people to say Rams are soft after this game. Rival games are so fun to watch and a NFC chamionship game too. This playoffs have been amazing.

Yes...rival opponents with the history behind The Rams and 49ers, plus in the same division facing each other in the NFC Championship? Think about this, although you may have already. The Rams faced two division rivals in the playoffs this year. The NFC West was really strong this year.

I've been a Rams fan for many decades and quite honestly, the only path to the SB was the SF 49ers. Had the Rams won week 18, not sure the game in Green Bay is winnable by the Rams.

I agree I thought slipping to the fourth seed rather than the second seed worked in our favor from the very beginning... And now we're super bowl bound at home... Well sort of at home I guess 🤣

Exactly. I have a friend who wanted the Rams to play Green bay instead of SF because we were 0-6 against them. But 100 percent the Rams are a better team than SF (despite record). I told him no way . We are very fortunate that SF beat Green Bay

Someone mentioned: "There might have been more San Francisco fans at Sofi Stadium last night... but we had more points" Oh man this win felt sooooo good! I attended the game at Sofi Stadium during Week 18 when we gave up the 17 point lead against the 49ers and lost in OT. It stung, especially with the amount of SF fans trash talking while leaving the arena. At that point, I wanted the 49ers to advance in the playoffs so we could get revenge. It really is a dish best served cold 😂 LET'S GO RAMS!

IMO his TO management was aggressive but understandable. I get why he wanted to get a short field and a first down. I think it shows faith in his team that he put them in that position because even if something was egregious, I doubt many coaches would throw that flag with 1 TO and 8-10 min left in the game. Now, whoever told him to challenge may not be a friendly, but even given his history, I’m not mad. And Shanahan sat smug with his TOs until they didn’t even matter anymore. You win some, you lose some, that’s why the NFL is undefeated.

I was there It was actually about 60/40 Rams fans, That red just pops more. It was loud both ways. 9rs were the ones with the only delay of game that day

I think when the Rams originally left for STL people in central/southern California had to pick a team(49ers) so yeah it’s tough to regain those fans. Also I’m a Rams fan from STL who still LOVES that team… and there’s a bunch of people like me but we obviously have trouble getting to a game in LA. I guess my point is even though they can’t get people to show up, there’s a lot of Rams fans out there. Go Rams!

Rams can definitely get people to show up... SoFi was always packed out. The problem is, everyone wants to see a game at the greatest stadium ever built, especially the opposing fanbase who are willing to pay any amount for that one game. Lots of Rams fans wanted to go to yesterday's game (myself included) but when Niner fans are willing to pay $1500 each for nosebleeds, what can you do?

Rams did everything they could to give the game away: dropping wide open td, missed field goal, stupid challenges, easy stafford int that was dropped by tartt. But the 9ers didnt want to take the gifts the rams were giving them.

You guys had a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. That was one hell of a show by both teams. It wasn't just your team that missed opportunities. The Rams missed almost just as many as the niners did. It was just one hell of a performance by the Rams D in the fourth quarter that won us that game

That's what happens when you leave a market for over 20 years. The Raiders were the team. Rams win the Super Bowl it'll build the fan base. The Chargers are even making in-roads because Justin Herbert has that Superstar quality and that TNF game against the Chiefs, the Chargers had 75% dominance over the Chiefs fans. Niners are a legacy team and earned that fan base. The two LA squads need to do the same.

Rams fan and agreed - it’ll be an uphill climb and I think the Rams knew the first one to win a super bowl (especially if they win the SB at home) in LA has the inside track of being LA’s team. Rams are just missing that young face of the franchise superstar that young fans can gravitate towards

I'm a Rams fan, grew up in LA living in AZ. I got friends who come out to spend a weekend at Air Bnbs in Phoenix JUST because its too expensive to buy Rams tickets and they'd rather just pay 80 bucks for a cardinals game and have a fun weekend so they can watch live football rather than go to SoFi cuz tickets and parking are too expensive

Mahomes threw picks, jimmy threw multiple opportunities for a pick, burrow threw one and got lucky when the LB dropped that pick at the sideline. That’s the game these days. Risk and reward. People call out Stafford for normal QB numbers.

@@jadenrogers9918 this is another case of cherry picking to fit your narrative. Mahomes was absolutely reckless that game. Was playing backyard football. His whole second half was not good. And you’re telling me burrows pick that was dropped wasn’t boneheaded? It was a crucial drive that could have sealed it for KC. The ball was ten yards short. Take staffords first three years out, (team was horrible.) his 17 interceptions this year is a big outlier. He never threw as many as people think. Look at his stats. I don’t care if all his picks are “boneheaded,” he doesn’t throw a lot of them, period. And it’s ok to throw some when you’re ranked top five in so many categories.

I'm about to hit my 70th birthday. Born in Detroit and a Lion's fan since I was 8 years old. Let me freaking assure you that - "IT WAS THE LIONS" - it was not Stafford! Remember, my Lion's franchise literally wasted both Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson's careers (two of the best to ever play) with our pathetic trio of completely inept - "ownership/management/coaching."

Have hope, TB was terrible for years. My Niners too then Montana/Walsh. I would have never made that trade though, especially taking Goff🤢. He’s awful. GB handled Rodgers poorly, but they’ll at least ship him to the AFC.😁

Glad that Wittworth,Weddel can win a ring. But especially for Stafford because that will make it possible for him to make the hof and for Donald to solidify his spot as a top 3 defensive player of all time and top 10 player in nfl history

Very true...Los Angeles is a melting pot of many cultures and many migrants of people from other states that move here bring their loyalty to the teams that they follow. You can always find a sports bar that supports the other NFC and AFC teams here in Los Angeles. It's going to take a lot to get the younger generation to turn to our Rams again. A Super Bowl win or two is the start of that turnaround... Hell, The Rams had to go with the "silent count" a lot of the time last Sunday, but they won! HORNS UP!!!

Quality over quantity. A lot of Niners fans were fans because of montana and then followed generations of fans who didn’t even watch them. This is before LA didn’t have a team but that skyrocketed once both the raiders and rams left. Levi’s stadium was shown multiple times being half empty if not more than that over the years. Yeah - SF had the 17th highest attendance rate this year. LA Rams were 4th highest while the Chargers were 15th. LA may be a fair weather sports city (I say that as a Rams fan) but it’s great to see general excitement and buzz surrounding football grow in the city.

Dodgers during their bad years were always at the top of the attendance rankings. I love that rams football is being embraced here finally. It sure wasn’t gonna happen the first year under fisher lol

@@97NikeSb I was there in 2016-17 when the Rams lost to the Cardinals with Rookie Goff coached by Fisher, 44-6. Pain. Only saving grace was watching Palmer return to the coliseum and cook us lol

Staff is the best QB in the league as of yesterday. No one can touch his arm talent, ability to read defenses or toughness. I saw him get assassinated at Ford Field multiple times, hits that would have ended many careers. He just gets up and keeps playing. Toughest dude in the NFL.

So right....Where is the new Dick Bass, Lawrence McCutcheon, Eric Dickerson, etc? We about had one in Todd Gurley for a couple of years, but now RBs are considered a dime a dozen. I like the three-headed monster of veteran Sony Michel, Cam Akers, and Darrel Henderson. Very effective RBs. And how about this question? Where are the fullbacks these days? You know the 200lb plus bulls that can plow throw the line. Where are the new Larry Csonkas, John Riggins, Cullen Bryant's, Franco Harris's, Jerome Bettis's? Not to mention Earl Campbell and the greatest of all time Jim Brown?

Most underrated play of the game was that early special teams punt pin by the 9ers where they had the rams start from the 5 or whatever it was. The field position game... and special teams , basic hard-nosed principles.. rams had to struggle for those first half points
