Your mindset is awesome! I’m living almost 2 years in Tokyo now. I’m not rich too. Just working in a supermarket 35 hours a week. But I can pay our rent, electric bill, gas bill, internet, water bill and can save money every month. Such kind of live in this circumstances would be impossible in Germany where I come from. I really love Japan. I work so hard to come here and I‘m really really thankful that I can live here.

And for some short-term reason: Japan as a whole and Tokyo let the Japanese Yen$ at 25-year historical low: So the GDP and Properties Values and All Activities attribute to Tokyo Value of 2.14 Trillion US Dollars; otherwise it would have been higher!! If Tokyo was compared with countries would be in Top 10 by GDP! (For reference There are about 196 countries in the world, and atleast over 50 big countries, that aren't islands with sizeable population). This city alone beats the entirety of those nations.

Rhine Ruhr is not an city it's a lot of cities. It's an part of Germany ( Cologne, Dortmund, Bochum, Düsseldorf, Essen and more)

Even geographic they are not always connected. No offense but you are so wrong. Rhine Ruhr is the Industry part of Germany. You can see a lot of cities around that. Anyway Rhine and Ruhr are two river crossing all this cities.

Austin comes in at $193 Billion, should be around #66. This list uses the GDP of each city (which doesn't really mean it's the richest), but with that being said it's inaccurate and missing a bunch of cities (I couldn't find the source of the list they used)

OMG, the picture for No. 63 Ningbo is where I used to live. The South business district. That is not in downtown but a really lovely and pretty place to live and take a walk day and night. There are plenty of nice restaurants in that area and the view is great along the river.

People there seem to be much more friendly and respectful than here in Europe. I admire Japan. But there's no doubt i like anime but that's not the reason i love Japan. The only thing I don't like is the nationalists that deny Japan's war crimes during WW2.

technically Paris is as well, depending on how you define "Paris". the "city proper" of Paris, is a very small city, about the size of central London, however, the metro area of Paris, is a huge metropolis made of multiple different cities and towns in the region of "Île-de-France". basically the city limits for Paris are drawn very small, making the city itself a very small city, however in reality, all of the Paris metro area could be considered one single city, as everything is very close together. and this is basically what Rhine Ruhr is, loads of small cities, that are pretty close together and well connected, and are really one single city so basically if they treated Rhine Ruhr like several separate cities, they would have to do the same with Paris.

Proud of... being rich? That's all it takes? No quality? Just quantity? Just wealth? yeesh, dare I say that's cringe for that to the be highlight of your "pride" And it's not even a personal thing either. Do you not know what it means to be "proud"? Pride is a personal feeling of accomplishment yet you attach it to a whole city for having so much wealth as if that means anything despite the amount of poverty and corruption of that city. It's so soulless yet so American that you'd blissfully declare yourself to be "proud" of something as inane as that, because only in America do people only take "pride" in wealth while most young people struggle in the same place, it's insufferable.

If I had a good amount of money and free choice where to settle, the USA wouldn't even make my top 10 (most of the top 10 would be in Europe) I consider myself lucky that I am already in one of those 10.

Europe itself is the smallest continent of the world. And you wanna talk about flaws? Which country does not have flaws?! Your 'top 10' European countries have plenty of flaws too if you're not 'ignorant' enough to turn a blind eye to them. The truth is, there are certain people who like to bash America every chance they get. Usually they're the jealous ones, or the angry ones. And you clearly are one of them. But you know what? I don't give a rats a$$ about what haters think about my country. I travelled and lived overseas quite a bit, and I know from experience that AMERICA IS STILL THE BEST.

I had lived in Tokyo for 10 years and now I live in London. Tokyo is more like the country, which includes more than 6 cities Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Shibuya, Ginza, Marunouhi, Ueno,,, For example, garbage separation rules are different in Shinjuku Ward and Ikebukuro Ward . Because Japan is small island, the distance between cities are close unlike US, China.
