How Important Is a GOOD Intercooler? We Find Out On a Can-Am X3!

After our dyno session at Whalen Speed R&D with Kyle's X3, we determined it was time for for an intercooler upgrade. The skyrocketing charge air temps were really holding his machine back! Treal Performance hooked us up with their high performance intercooler/fan kit and we put it to the test to see how it compared to the stock piece! It absolutely impressed us!

offset fan and shroud an inch or so from surface of the intercooler, it will help performance by reducing dead spot around hub, corners, and making the air flow more efficiently through the fan as well.

Would there be a measurable performance gain if you have a stock x3 rr?

The cooler the charge temps the better! Can’t go wrong adding this. Even at stock boost levels this should perform more consistently than the OEM intercooler.
