Pilot episode: Rick got drunk and made a big bomb to kill Rick Prime, but he was "drunk" drunk, so he didn't realize there was no point. He just felt like he needed to make the bomb. Then, he realized Morty was in his bed, so he went to get him with a BS excuse and made the BS "Adam & Eve" plan as he was drunk-driving. 10:16 : That explains why he left that version of the family fend for itself.

In a sad case of "Life Imitating Art" Justin Roiland, who created the Cartoon Network animated series “Rick and Morty” in August 2020, was arrested and charged with felony domestic battery and false imprisonment. Adult Swim announced later that month that Roiland had been dismissed from Rick and Morty. Soon afterwards multiple people came forward with their own allegations of abuse by Roiland in the #MeToo movement. In March 2023, the criminal charges against Roiland were dismissed due to insufficient evidence.

I wonder if Season 1 Episode 5 Morty is the same Morty that helped that one Rick avenge the death of his family by helping him defeat Prime Rick, killing him off. Evil Morty isn't really an evil one. He just doesn't like to be traumatized, kind of like how that rick didn't like to be.
