Apparently the allegations have now been entirely legally debunked and discredited, so the status is up in the air. This just goes to show why people/companies shouldn’t jump the gun.

They weren't firing him because they thought he was guilty, but because he was bring a bad name to adult swim, so they would have fired him either way

The DA allegations were absolutely not the only issue with him. The screenshots of certain messages he allegedly sent are the other issue, and even if you don’t believe those are real you can just listen to his own statements on podcasts essentially justifying that exact sort of thing. Going back a few years now.

The co-creator, Justin Roiland, who also voices both Rick and Morty and other characters got fired because of some domestic violence charges that have recently been dropped. He fought tooth and nail claiming they were false charges anyway. The plan was to hire new voice actors, but I don't think I would watch it. We'll see what happens next.

The charges have been dropped, but he is still an asshole. He has a rep for being very inappropriate with fans at conventions and to his employees. Firing him was the right thing to do. Plus, there are others out there that can do the voices just as well.

@@LancerX916 Yeah, unfortunately I've heard all of those things as well. I'm sure others can do the voices, but since he's one of the main writers how the show going to be? But yeah, you're right, he's a dick. But at the same time Steve Jobs was a total dick, and Apple isn't the same without him.

@@antonnola He's not one of the main writers though. It's come out that he hasn't had input in years and just voices the characters. Several of the writers claimed they haven't seen him in years and his relationship with Dan Harmon is supposed to have completely broken down. It's similar to Seth MacFarlane and Family Guy, everyone assumes since he is the creator and voices the characters that he is running the show, when in reality he took a back seat years ago

One of the shows I constantly re-watch. The co-creator and the voice of both Rick and Morty was found not guilty, another person losing their job before they were tried. Hopefully he comes back, I don't think I will watch anymore if the voices are too different.

Same here. He was also one of the writers. Him and one of the other creators would literally get drunk and improv some of the dialogue for the episodes. If it turns into a bunch of hipster writers making the shows itll become woke af. Hope not

I've heard the replacement VA's impressions of Rick and Morty and they sound spot on to me. So nothing too much to worry about there. But regardless, Justin Roiland will be missed.

I'm pretty sure Rick is basically Dr. Who in a degenerate, antisocial cartoon form. That's the way I've always seen his character anyway. If you watch an episode you'll see the similarities. Thumbs up for both shows!

Hey Dave, Adult Swim was definitely not part of the Cartoon Network, it comes on later at night when the kiddies are in bed. And I believe it's usually a weekend show. It was geared more for adults, even as all things go, probably most kids in America have watched it. I know my daughter did.

Adult Swim (Williams Street) is technically it's own company, but it's solely featured on air as a programming block on Cartoon Network late at night into the early morning. Also it's on every night. THE DAWN IS YOUR ENEMY!

Justin Roiland was found innocent of the charges and he was huge on the voices, wrote a couple of episodes and was big. They can continue without him though, he is kinda a dick.
