Crazy to think RC was smoking everybody before Stewart was in the picture and RC had to get even faster to beat Stewart when he was in the picture. RC was whooping everyone and not even at his fastest yet Stewart elevated him to that level. RC the GOAT no question but Stewart a legend for changing the sport entirely and doing things no one else would even think about trying. This was the best time period in MX/SX I'm grateful to have been so indulged in the sport at that age.

@@jeremymorales2354 If anything RC is king of motocross. Dude was the first to achieve the perfect season and wound up getting two of them. Winning all seven of those championships consecutively. Stewart forever changed the sport with his style and is undoubtingly the fastest to ever do it. I do think if the 4 strokes never happened which did around the same time Bubba went up to the 250/450 class. Bubba would have beaten RC majority of the time. No one did or will ever ride a 125 like Bubba did. If Bubba didn't crash out of races as much as he did then the argument could be made. However that's what happens when you do obstacles no one would dare to try.

@@leelathrop9539 Maybe they mean JS could set the fastest individual lap time which is a more understandable claim than "the fastest". Although I think Villopoto, RC, and Stewart all could claim that spot depending on the day.

Especially being James Stewart who gets beaten by Carmichael consistently,if Stewart crashes is a excuse for Carmichael dominating him in motocross, then why can't all the other riders who raced the same track and raced On the same day say that they could have won On the day, Carmichael rode the same tracks As Stewart against the same opposition, yet He wins time and time again against Stewart, love how Carmichael hunts him down even if Stewart has a decent lead,he simply leaves him to eat his dirt and takes off into The distance, Stewart was taking a pounding from injuries just trying to keep Up with Carmichael, Stewart couldn't handle the speed of Carmichael which is why He crashed so much, trying to push the limits to keep Up with The goat and crashing lots

I know he was content with his decision, but as a fan, especially a Ricky Carmichael fan, he's my all-time fav racer ever in MX, then R.V. is my 2nd. But man, he looked absolutely flawless those 6 rds. We have the king M.C. and of course, the G.O.A.T R.C. what a time in MX n I don't kno if his records will ever be broken outdoors.

Carmichael. 150 wins, 10 straight outdoor Championships (every year he raced it) 2 perfect seasons(64 moto wins in a row), 5 SX championships (48 wins) and a 125 East SX Championship where he won every race (not every moto).

What was the one guys name up a d coming great rider thunk takanka or something he wrecked and hurt his knee real bad so he kind of stopped racing. May not saying his name coreect but good rider he wrecked a few times hurt his knee and leg did risk it for sport so not scared just stopped spectator racing not saying that bad respect to all the fans just did risk leg for it I guess but Tanaka or something like that. Thinking he was a 2stroke 250 rider. 125 250 rider

Carmichael is the real champion here, yeah stewart is fast but he never accomplished what carmichael did, saw how he chickened out of doing a backflip because mommy and daddy said not to do it, then Chad Reed lands a 45 foot backflip and rides away from it, I guess Chad has less fear than James and makes his own decisions

It was nearly always Stewart against RC and anyone else trying so desperately hard to take him out of the race, not just compete.

Wow Stewart dealt with a lot of "segregation" in his career, even when he wins, its Ricky that gets interviewed about being number two. No wander Stewaart was this good, but not many people know him, for a long time i thought "James Stewart" was a white rider, because they do not show him enough on the telly. But this killed the sport somewhat, the white riders did not get to learn enough from him as they should have. If you wanna know the sort of "-ism" im talking about, listen at 2:22, what the commentor says when Stewart passes Ricky. And also, the general folk, never wanna say "Stewart was good" or even "best", they would rather say "these two raced well together" to bring Ricky in to a spotlight that should otherwise be centered on James Stewart. I ll say it for him, this was the best rider in the sport, period, stats or no stats, can you say that about any other rider? No.

Very sad watching this and knowing Stewart was on PEDs (adderall) while racing. No wonder he didn't get tired

I race and have ADHD and take Adderall 10mg. It's not an advantage like you would think. It constricts blood vessels and makes your heart work harder. It can help with brain fade though.
