Ponting won 5 ICC major tournaments ( 3 WC , 2 CT) while current India lost 5 ICC major tournaments in a row (2014 T20, 2015 50WC, 2016 T20WC, 2017 CT, 2019 50 WC). But you chat like Bumrah won 5 major tournaments while he won 0. 😂😂😂😂😂

Ricky Ponting is one of the best batsmen that the world has ever seen and he has also been the member of the side who has won hatrick of world cups 1999, 2003 and 2007. One under the captaincy of Steve Waugh in 1999 and two himself as a captain in 2003 and 2007. Ricky Ponting has also contributed in over 106 test wins for his country.

Not scoring a century for nearly 2 years..nearing retirement...He was selected only for First test match....Later he made a big impact and we witnessed vintage Ponting in this series...As a ponting fan, this 134 is the best innings ♥️✨

@@TiTuSettaigal Absolutely agree. The 40th ton was so special for us all as it was almost 2 years that Punter had made a ton in Test Cricket. His form had really deserted him in his twilight years. This series was the one that proved to us that he still had it in him to be at the top of his game. Sadly couldn't continue for long and retired in 2012. Nonetheless, one of the greatest players to have walked the earth.

I was at day 2 and 3 of the Sydney test were Clarke scored 300 and Ponting and Hussey both got 100. I'l remember those 2 days for the rest of my life :) truely great batting.

Clarke was lucky to have Ponting as a Coach while Ponting was still playing, a lot of the time, a Captain will retire instead of handing down the captaincy. I think Ponting is the Greatest Captain of all time, but I am only 26, so I haven't seen the likes of the Chappell brothers, Ian Botham, Bradman, Sobers......so I don't know. Tim Paine is also very lucky to have Steve Smith mentoring him. Paine is now an Excellent Captain.

It was a very difficult and well fought Ashes series in 05. It literally came down to the wire. 2005 was The Greatest Ashes Series Of All Time. As much as it hurts that England won, it was a brilliant series.

lways felt that Ricky Ponting should've been the Man of the series instead of M.Clarke , even though Clarke scored monster centuries twice but failed in the other 4 innings , Ponting 2 - 100's , 3 -50's out of 6 innings , his two 50's in the first test were crucial as India was competitive in that test

Punter was God. It was so good to see him finally get that ton against India. The great man never deserved to be brought undone so ingloriously by the pretenders that NZ had in their bowling attack. No sledge on New Zealand, but they just aren't in his class. It was even worse when Kallis bowled him all ends up. In his pomp Ricky would have been sending Jacques' medium pacers into the 12th row.

Absolutely loathed Ricky Ponting as he was terrifying to play against especially us English. Gutsy, courageous and a real warrior with the bat. I would rate him better then Tendulkar and Lara on the basis that Ponting would take a game away from you at anytime.

Tendulkar was better batsman technically than Lara and ponting but mentally he was no way near ponting and Lara ponting and Lara both were match winners and both were player of big matches like finals and semi finals whereas tendulkar never performed in pressure situations and because of tendulkar whenever tendulkar reached 90 he started batting very slowly because of pressure and that costed india alot of matches I would describe tendulkar as a selfish batsman

4:38 Ouch ! Thats the stuff of nightmares when in the field. 413/3, Ponting 169 n.o. Clarke 183 n.o. You'd be looking forward to the tea break. Ponting's average took a very rapid nosedive right near the end of his career, so the stats lie a little...he was a proper 58-60 test avg guy that produced in the big games. He'll be remembered most for that glorious pull shot he had, but he had every single shot in the book and made it look classy. More that that though...you could almost pick him just for his fielding, and the effect it had on the other 10 men when in the field. Absolute Gun.

I have been playing Field Hockey since my childhood. And I always tried to lead my team the way Ponting and Ganguly did. These two have been the best captians their teams have had.
