How Much Does it COST to LIVE IN CYPRUS?

This is what I spend in a month in Cyprus. I am talking about the living costs and fix costs that I have.
When I moved to Cyprus, I wanted to know how much it costs to live here. And that is why I created this update video about the living costs, so you know exactly what the cost of living in Cyprus are.
I am telling you exactly how much I spend every month and I also show you the lifestyle in this VLOG.
Most of my fix cost expenses go to rent, restaurants and groceries. But also utilities, car fuel and other minor things.
I will also answer the question whether Cyprus is still affordable and how much money you need when moving to Cyprus.

Hey! Did I spot the famous Johnny Rambo in a non-speaking role at Bania? Re the cost of living, I don't pay rent as I am living in my own house, groceries is about half of what you spend, as I am living alone, utilities is always about 100, but 700 for restaurants and such seems a bit high. Either because I am lazy and don't go out as much, or because I get invited a lot. I loved when you were explaining that you can spend much less for an apartment if you want to, overlaying the narrative with an aerial shot of Cap St. George, where prices start at 4 million, but the good ones are much higher! And everything there sells quickly, off-plan. Thank you for a great video showing me once again how good my life is here in Paphos, without having to leave the comfort of my sofa! 👍

In my side, similar, maybe 3,6k per month, because two kids in private school, and we are not using restaurant so much. On your example, we can see 2k is also possible ferly easy, if no kids. In winter, I did not like groundfloor apartment, it is cold, but now in summer it is benefit! We are living on ground floor too.

Hey, yes with kids it's very different, but very beautiful of course. I see you always smiling. :) And my apartment, now during summer it is still very fresh. I don't even need the AC, but let's see July & August.

Nicely put together Rico! Your expenses are for 1 person? How ever 3,000€ is not too bad and you are living the life. I’m sure just like other countries with higher inflation, things are more expensive. I’m currently in London on a business trip and I’m having price sticker shocks! Very expensive here! Enjoy life in beautiful Cyprus!

Hi Rico! Thanks for these series! Can you please do a video on Parking, fines, municipality services and payments, car maintenance, basically everything related to cars) etc. We are new to Cyprus and have parked in the disabled area and got 300 EUR fine (really sad, sad situation). So also wondering is there a way to appeal this if you're a tourist/temporary resident?

Hey there, sorry to hear that. I also got a few fines recently. As I'm a foreigner in this country, I just pay it immediately, but I know from some friends that there are options to appeal, yes.

Id love to move there and grow my own food and live a very basic lifestyle like i do here (UK). I love being in nature and dont like socialising too much. A small casa in the mountains close to a bus route and water would be ideal.

How is the quality of tap water and air in cyprus ? is it easy to find organic nuts vegetables and fruits ? Am suprised you drive a car like that instead of a more sporty and or expensive car ? what about mosquitos there ? Thank You

Hi, I understood from locals that electricity is very, very expensive... how do you pay so little? There are families here (Larnaca) with 2 children who pay 800 to 1,000 euros. Can be?

I have pretty much the same monthly expenses in Limassol except I don’t have a car but life is more expensive in Limassol in general. Idk how anyone can survive on 1k in Cyprus though unless you own a house.

Generally, Nicosia is considered more expensive than the Paphos area. Nicosia is a bigger city and has 250k citizens, Paphos maybe 100k (over a very large area).

Hi Rico. Thanks for another video. Based on the comparison I have had living before in Spain and knowing Italy and Portugal and recently residing in Cyprus, the value to quality ratio in Cyprus looks poor in comparison. The cost of living is about 20% higher and stardards of development and infrustructure (roads, quality of housing, etc) comparably worse. Also, clothing and electronics (which are not part of your budget in this video) are much, sometimes - 50 to 70 more for exactly same items.But definitely, the nature and the beaches are lovely. Though, the other, mentioned above countries have the same in abundance. I thought this comparison might be interesting if people wondered where to move.

Hey, Cyprus living costs are definitely increasing, however, the tax scheme here makes it very attractive for me and many entrepreneurs to still live here. If you can reduce your taxes down to 12.5% corporate tax, or 0% dividend tax, I'm fine with paying 50€ more for electronics. And Cyprus is one of the very few countries that requires staying only 60 days in the country.

@Rico I meant to say, that exactly same items (clothing and electronics) I compared were at least 50% more expensive (not Euros) - sorry, I wasn't precise. Reg dividends, you still need to pay Gesy contribution on it which is 2,65. There are even better options in that respect, eg in Portugal non-dom, where you pay exactly zero on offshore dividends and need to stay in the country only one week in a year with cost of living 25% lower. Just a food for thought....
