Ricoma EM1010 Trim not in position FIX

After encountering this error message - Mark, from Ricoma, talked me thru the fix. My son thought it might be nice to share the info with you - I think that's a good idea too. Embroidery is so much fun - those error messages, not so much, but the fix is not far away.

Honestly it helped a lot. Its even embroiding better. If you could see the amount of dirt and thread I had clogged up you would of been shocked. Keep up videos you're doing an amazing job. 👏🏾

Manufacturers suggested spaces. My machine has a small oil hole on the needle plate. A small amount in there - I also oil the bobbin rod after each change. Oil sparingly or else your garment will reap the excess. Check for your machine's suggestions

Did follow on the advise to clean up and oil on the trim but still not gone into position. What else should I do?

Did you remove the thread that blocked the trim - totally remove the needle plate?

@@lindaholleysgonefishing9813 thank you for the response. Yes, I did clean all and realized later that I have to click ok thereafter when the message pops up. I did that and it worked. I felt stupid for not realizing that all along as I waited several hours before I did that 🙈 🤣🤣

When you say Trim not in place do you mean Hook not in place ? Because I’m having a problem with Hook not in place error and Ricoma sent a file to add to my machine but it hasn’t worked either.

Nope, they are two different areas. The hook grabs the thread to cut. Trim is located on top of the bobbin. It can fill with thread and not "close" enough to function.

@@heavenandlimes I finally got somebody on the phone that knew what the problem was and it was that silver bar that the cutter comes through to cut the thread, it was bent probably from the mighty hoop hitting it when putting it on the machine I put a flat head screwdriver in the middle of the opening and turned it and it opened it back up and that seems to have fixed it.

It won’t push back into place

That upper arm that is connected to the blade is stuck in place with not move back

@@deezy7811 Try pressing the "OK" button... I had the same frustrating issue for a straight hour trying to resolve it, but it automatically worked when I pressed OK instead of "ESC". Hope this helps anyone reading this
