The only thing that moves traffic for real is power call, the Q siren and air horns and I am so that guy that goes screaming down the road blasting the Q and horns. They need more Q.

Really enjoy the ride along videos. Do you have a friend or family ember that works for LAFD? Back in the older days it was easy to get "Ride Alongs", I remember friends hitting certain FDNY stations, and becoming friendly with the guys, and as long as you werent a pain in the ass, or make them look bad, they would let guys run wih them. Lots of cities in the Northeast were like that. I know when i was on the job id let people that i knew well, and were interested in the fire service, id let them ride along. But it seems now its much harder to come by. I dont see many new videos of ride alongs like it was say back in the 80's. I did come across some Detroit FD ride along videos not to long ago. The few i had seen were from Devils night a few years back, i think it was from a Heavy Rescue, and i had seen another video that was from an Engine and then a BC. I like the BC videos much better because you can hear and see things much better. Sorry to bend your ear, just wanting to know if you have done many of these. Thanks.

@sdcaljoe The reason they look that way (I assume you're referring to the FDNY sir) is because they are just older trucks. Lots more wear and tear due to weather, scratcher knicks to their sides because of ignorant drivers and things of that sort. They do have nicer looking Marauder II's though.

du musst mich glaube ich falsch verstanden haben, ich wollte damit nicht sagen, dass es in Deutschland keinen Stossverkehr gibt, ich wollte damit nur begründen weshalbs beim LAFD etwas anders auf Einsatzfahrt geht, LA ist und bleibt nun mal die Stadt mit der höchsten Auto-pro-Kopf-Anzahl. Diese Stadt besteht praktisch nur für Autos. PS ich komme nicht aus Deutschland ;)
