Yeah steep seems more polished and steep is way more realistic than riders but riders is still in beta so they could change it

I think steep and riders are just two different types of games, like skate 3 and THPS. Skate is more realistic, with its audience being rewarded after putting in a bit of time to learn the mechanics and understand the gameplay. It's similar to steep in this way. The wider audience may not play up until the point where they are rewarded, and the market for people who buy it is going to be smaller. THPS on the other hand isn't realistic, but offers a whole lotta fun with the outrageous gameplay it has to offer. While the audience it is aimed at will include hardcore skate fans looking for a game they can pump realistic tricks into, the wider audience is not in for that. It makes sense to create a game that can be played by everyone, and more support will come to a game like that. With riders republic being a game that anyone can pick up and enjoy, there will be more support for it. Businesses will only support what makes them money. After all, the companies producing it, the people making it, they all need to get paid. If riders takes off, the development team will be able to continue supporting the game for a long time, and will be able to polish it for fans. If a hardcore setting is what the people want, I'm sure the developers would pay attention to it, and maybe as part of a future update put it in. I can understand what you mean, but you gotta remember, it is a beta run too. It's cool to see so many people playing it though, a big community is what it needs to keep it going and to keep support for it going too.

I thought steep mode only just guides you to setup for a landing when you release the right stick? or I think thats what it said but if it works like that thats pretty nice

No and yes. Rider mode is A X B controls as you described, but the beta let you choose Trickster mode too in which you use the sticks to make tricks. And after the introduction you can select Steep mode in settings to get controls similar to Steep (rotations with left stick, grabs with right stick and jump with R2).

no the controls are not true to steep at all. The right stick does not work like in steep, you cant put any touch or tweak, its just bad overall. I was in the beta as well, its a regression in a lot of ways to steep. There are a bunch of positives about the game but man are there some faults.

@@indartz8695 Was on manual landing mode with a modified trickster controls. I had to beat the 5+ hour tutorial to even get to free-roam to see if I liked the skiing. You seem like a cool dude who makes generalizations based off nothing.
