I purchased this same model based on one of your previous vids. I was impressed with its performance you demonstrated in that particular video. Prior to the Rigid I had a Bosch Colt trim router and was pleased with it. The cord on the Bosch is a little bit cumbersome at times and a battery operated router eliminates that problem. You can just grab it and go. The Rigid is now my "Go-to" trim router. I concur with all your points on your review, including the "left-handed" inconvenience. I'm a South Paw too. Thanks, Kenny, for your review!

I'm glad that you enjoy your Ridgid as much as I do. I love this little so much that I can overlook the southpaw issue. It really is a great little power house. Thanks for tuning in and taking the time to chime in with your experience with the router. It's very much appreciated.

With their lifetime service guarantee for their batteries and tools, it's kind of a no brainer. LOL. Thanks for the kind words on the show and for tuning in. It's appreciated.

Great video. I am not aware of Rigid tools being available to us here in the uk but I have a makita 18v router. I purchased it as a kit with 2 x 5ah bateries and charger. It has fixed, plunge and tilting bases in a well thought out kit box. Expensive? yes but it works brilliantly. I cannot imagine how I ever managed without it. Technology has come a long way since I bought my original black and decker router nearly 40yrs ago. The Makita is far more powerful and easier to use than the Black and Decker.

You and I most likely had the same Black and Decker router. I used to travel to the east coast of Canada during the summer when I was young and catch squid from the Atlantic Ocean. I would dry these squid and sell them and the money I would earn during the summer, would pay for my woodworking tools. Black and decker (both the bright orange style and the army green style) were all the rage back then and I worked hard to have them all. I'm glad that technology has changed because I'm not so sure that I would still be woodworking if those tools didn't improve. Thanks for tuning in and for sharing your experience with me. It's appreciated.

Kenny, really good review. I have drooled over this tool at almost every recent visit to Home Depot. The performance and battery life were my biggest concerns but now I know it is a non issue. I agree that battery tools should be sold with or without batteries and chargers. Not everyone has an 18v drill or other tool in their shop. Thanks for the great information.

Glad that you liked it Paul. I truly love this little power house and it has become my "go to" trim router. I love my corded DeWalt but honestly, grabbing the Ridgid and just working with it is just so much easier. I love it. Thanks for tuning in this week sir.

I would have to agree with your Charles. I don't think that this is a tool for a commercial environment. The home shop or hobbyist is way better suited for a tool like this one. Thanks for tuning in and for taking the time to chime in with your story. It's appreciated.

Thanks Kenny. Have you used it in your Beil screw thread cutting device? Were you satisfied with the performance on the Beil?
@acutabove_woodworkings
@acutabove_woodworkings 4 жыл бұрын
To be honest Charles, I have not used it in the Bealle wood threader jig. I think maybe that should be something that I do rather soon to test it out. I honestly can't see why it wouldn't perform just fine considering how well it works with all other tasks. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Kenny; my curiosity won out. I visited Home Depot online and found they have the octane battery kit on sale for $149 usd and they give you a free router. Sounds like a great deal for us that live in the lower 48 of the USA. Don’t know about Canada though eh.
