I had a 1992 F250 with the naturally aspirated 7.3l, although I added a turbo to it. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Never failed to start on the coldest mornings as long as I replaced any bad glow plugs in the fall and replaced the heated fuel filter yearly. Great to see a 7.3 doing its job after all these years and inspiring the kind of confidence it takes to make a 2000 mile journey during the darkest coldest time of year.

Why family were loggers in Newfoundland, Canada where conditions were always rough and sometimes Arctic like conditions. Over the years we tried, GM and Dodge, but Ford always prevailed hands down. No comparison. There is no small reason why in Canada for over 60 years straight, Ford pickups were the number one selling of all vehicles in Canada, cars included.

@@robertlevy105 yes, they sold turbo kits for them. One was from Banks and the one I put on was from a company called Hypermax. It was non intercooled but the difference in power was night and day. It was supposed to add around 80 hp which was a lot back then.

Put a heater core in the camper so it keeps it warm while your driving. Include a separate electric circulation pump to take the rest of the heat from the engine after shut down. Mount the core with flexible hoses so you can place it on the wood stove in the morning to preheat the engine for easy starting.

Hey Timmy, you can make that roux for easier by cooking it in your oven. Start on the stove then transfer to 300* oven for around an hour. It's a lot easier to get a dark chocolate roux like this. Darker roux means more flavor and less thickening power. Anyways, I dig your channel. Some awesome adventures!

Stumbled across Timmy’s videos a few weeks ago and must say what a crazy likeable guy he is living the off grid life many of us dream of, I live in the U.K. and in my lifetime the lowest temperature we experienced was -25c that seems normal for Alaska, keep posting Timmy.

You inspired me. I lived in Shelton WA for ten years. ( you mentioned the skokomish river the " skok") and I also know bout the dust in the baggy. I got out of Mason County jail in June and moved to south Dakota. 7 months clean n sober. Saving money and dreaming of the Alaska life. Dad passed Christmas eve and left me a new truck and a boat . I'm working and putting everything away. If I ever run across you ( trucks easy to spot!) I'm gonna shake your hand. Thanks again.

You need some freezer storage containers and a cooler box you can strap to,your back porch, then put portions in the freezer boxes, you can make 5 or six with that volume of gumbo! Then just take a freezer box out of the cooler and heat that up. You can bake a potato with it! Great little traveling house!
