Looks like an amazing bike but I'm worried about the height of the tank as I keep hearing about accidents where people shatter their pelvis from smashing into the tank. Makes me think supersports are probably the safest to crash on as you go over it easier.

Allright, next year i'm going to buy me a new bike, probebly the tiger 1200 xrt (in red) So, this video has learnd me a lot, just one question, my wife and i travel a lot with the bike (she has her own bike) how do the motor drive with suitcases? Do you notice a lot of wind there? Greetzzz

One item which puts me off is the one piece frame, the bike is easily written off if you drop the thing. The 800 is the same, the BMW is subframed meaning, the back end can be detached or replaced. Having said that i've been and looked, it looks cool BTW I run a GSLC

Nice Video . nice Details to see ...the Engine looks so beautifull and runs very smooth . i think i will enjoy it .

Nice bike alright , shaft drive too .., but just to note : KTM 1290 SA & SAR have hill hold and all those other features , and is way lighter than the triumph , and also cheaper. .., you really need to compare those bikes (and not just a GS) as that is equally their competitor to the Triumph and not just the GS.
@ronanrogers41276 жыл бұрын
BTW the old KTM1290SA also had hill start assist, and the heated seats (as you note)...this review takes me back 7-8 years to the Apple fanboy days :) It’s too heavy, and the centre of gravity is too high.

Looks way better than the GS. With that said, why not mount the dash/lights to the forks in the traditional tidy way instead of a giant heavy ugly structure hanging off the front? It makes no sense for bikes without full fairings. All the electronics are awesome but the reality is, when you're in the middle of nowhere with no help available, it's just more stuff to break. So these really are the SUV's of motorcycles. Comfortable, fancy, stupid-expensive, grocery getters. I would own one as a commuter if I was rich.

What's happening to biking, Triumph are now selling to Hipsters and the lifestyle bikers. The price is ridiculous and most of the gizmos are pointless and just make a bike without character and soul. Whatever happened to the bikers who could fix their own bikes and they didn't need to be wealthy to buy. I was a massive fan of Triumph until very recently when they went all corporate, paying big names to endorse their products. I have just changed my Street Triple for a Yamaha Tracer and still own a Hinckey carbed Bonneville which I will never change. I know I will get loads of grief for this comment, but I am sure there are loads out there who will agree. Comments about I am only saying this because I can't afford one are wrong, I can afford one, but I wouldn't buy any mass manufactured bike at this price.

@nevillegreg16 жыл бұрын
RidingWithTom . Mobile phone GPS is great, until there is no reception. Friend of mine arrived very late one evening when on a country road mobile phone coverage dropped out and he took a wrong turn because he had to guess which way. GPS, have one on my bike, that's for sure. Beats stopping to look at the map like in the good old days. And don't make excuses for Triumph, at this level, GPS should be standard equipment.
@nevillegreg16 жыл бұрын
Bob Sacamano. My friend has an Apple I-phone. Believe what you want. Google Maps/dirctions is great. But I wouldn't go anywhere outside of major city limits without a proper GPS, especially at night.

Ugggghhhh shaft drive........I bloody hate shaft drives. Went across Canada and my buddy was riding his GS1200. Shaft drive goes, and that’s it man, he was done the trip. Needed to call a tow truck, find a BMW dealership, didn’t have the necessary parts to fix it, and after taxes labour and parts it cost him nearly half the price of the bike to fix........and it’s not a cheap bike.......I broke a chain during the trip, stopped, put a new chain on and was back on the road within 20 minutes.
@kendrickpavey66836 жыл бұрын
Typically caused by a lack of maintenance...shafts are very very reliable.
@lexian56026 жыл бұрын
Kendrick Pavey What's the point in using a shaft drive if you're cleaning it as often as a chain?
@Mtthwpez6 жыл бұрын
That's because it was a BMW shaft drive. Most other manufacturers have reliable shaft drives these days..
@kendrickpavey66836 жыл бұрын
Who said that? I look at mine when I change the diff oil and lube the splines. Easy few minute job. And I never have to clean chain lube off the wheel. Had 5 chained bikes with white wheels - over that...!
@jabsy50946 жыл бұрын
Bob Sacamano Well considering my Africa Twin was not brand new and the fact I put a little under 20,000km (~12,500 miles) on it after the trip was all said and done, I was very happy and surprised I had only gone through a single chain. The continuous riding day in and day out is very hard on any bike. 😄

tbh 90% of the features are basically useless and if you consider, that you have to pay for it all I would rather have none ^^
@RidingWithTom6 жыл бұрын
I don’t see how they are useless, yeah they are not needed but they are nice to have, so you would like it if we all still had wind up windows in our cars?
@softairsan6 жыл бұрын
I have roll up windows in the back of my car cause they are not often used and the prize i would have to pay and the use i get are not on the same level. Sure, these gadgets are fun and all but there is a reason that most people buy a civic and not a bentley. A fridge in the car is cool and all and you might use it from time to time but it is normally not worth the cost, so people go for civics. If i am looking for a bike, i want it to look great, have a great engine (efficent, reliable, fun to ride) and feel good to ride (seat, suspension etc.) And i want to get the best of that for the money i have. If the bike has wireless keys, heated seats, self moving winshield etc etc etc i am paying for all of that as well. They could build the exact same bike without these gadgets and sell it for far less and i am 100% sure, they would sell more. I dont need to take calls on my super duke and still, if i want to buy one, i have to pay for this stupid gadget that i will maybe use 5 times in my life. Just give me a good and cheap bike, thats all i want And that is what 90% of the people want !
@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff6 жыл бұрын
You can buy the entry level XR model without a lot of the extras for a lot less money. You still get that wonderful engine and WP suspension. You pays your money etc etc.

In 20 years when this bike is old do you think people will want all the electronics that will Fail and need replacing? How can basic work be done by us at home? We make life to easy now and forget the most basic things about riding. Not a bike you can fix on the side of the road.
@benclimo4616 жыл бұрын
Bob Sacamano a lot of people still do. I am for one. Theres a lot of old bikes on the road and if these new bikes with all this electronics go wrong then its going to be very expensive and you can't just work on it yourself as they can get very confusing.
@benclimo4616 жыл бұрын
Bob Sacamano that is very true but those electronics are also a lot simpler to work with. You just need basic electronic skills to fix the bike if anything goes wrong. Now days bikes are a lot more tricky to fix as theres soo much more electronics with the ecu/abs and all the different sensors not including the more equipped bikes such as the triumph tiger that was recently reviewed on this channel. That kind of bike will be tricky as hell to fix without speding vast amounts on replacement electronics let alone finding them.
