Thanks to our dynamo lights , it is possible to neatly install lighting on the Ridley Kanzo Adventure and Grifn models. This ensures that the rider is more visible in traffic. We have prepared the following step-by-step guide for the installation of this lighting and the corresponding wiring.
You can add the dynamo lights to the Ridley Kanzo Adventure and Grifn in our Configurator: www.ridley-bikes.com/configur...
Required materials/tools:
- Mounting paste
- Stripping Pliers
- Flat jaw pliers
- Box cutter
- Tape
- Heat gun/lighter
- Allen keys 2,5 - 4 - 5 - 6 mm
Step-by-step guide:
1: Take all parts from the kit
2: Guide the two front hub cable (the cable with the black ends) through the fork crown spacer.
3: Pull the cable with the black wires through the front fork
4: Mount the front light. Note: place the fork crown spacer under the light clamp
5: Guide the front light cable (the cable with red and blue ends) through the plastic cable stopper
6: Attach the cable to the lining already installed on the frame, you can use tape for this
7: Pull the cable internally through the frame without removing the lining. The cable enters the frame through the head tube to under the saddle
8: Secure the cable stopper in the down tube
9: Install the rear light on the seat post and secure it properly in the frame. Use assembly paste for this
10: Cut the cable to 30 centimeters. Ensure that the cable is long enough to fit back into the frame for a clean appearance
11: Strip approximately five centimeters of the black insulation from the wires.
12: Shorten one of the two wires connected to the rear light (in blue and red) slightly more than the other. The connectors will not fit in the top tube if they are adjacent
13: Install the female connector on the blue wire coming from the rear light and the male connector on the red wire
14: Place the heat shrink tubing on the connectors and around the cables. Optionally, use flat jaw pliers and a lighter to make the whole assembly smooth
15: Plug in the connectors and close the heat shrink tubing around them (this can be done again with a lighter)
16: Place the cables back into the frame until only the black insulation is visible
17: Cut the wire in the front fork at the same height as the quick-release axle. Ensure that the cable is tight enough
18: Strip the rear insulation of the cable
19: Connect the connectors to the two wires
20: Place the heat shrink tubing around the connectors (possibly with a lighter)
21: Install the front wheel on the bike
22: Connect the connectors to the hub
23: Spin the wheel and test if the lighting works.
