They Black Keys' techs are just as cool as they are. I saw them in Dallas and a guy was checking Dan's mic, someone in the crowd said, "SAY AYYOOO!" the guy stepped away from the mic, looked around, stepped back up to the mic and let out a calm, cool, "ayoo".

Best Rig Rundown, yet. This guy told a great story about being a tech for ZZ Top, starting his own business, in walks Dan and then all about his pedal boards and the story of each Guitar and what songs are played on them live. This was very entertaining and interesting to me as a guitar player and aspiring luthier/ instrument builder.

I'm a one-man band and this is what i did for my setup after being robbed. Everything i need to play my music is readily available used and new on ebay, reverb, amazon, sweetwater etc... drummachine, synths, guitar, mixer, amp, pedals, and everything costs under $3000 (and i mean everything including all cables). The stuff that's the most expensive (laptop, sampler) i keep on my person and never let out of my sight while the rest will hopefully still be in still the car in the morning. If not, for 3k i have my whole setup back and with a couple uploads of memory off the cloud or sd cards I'm ready to play full sets in about the time it takes for the stuff to get shipped to me. Best decision ive ever made. And even if I don't have the 3k, once i save up I'm ready to play my set the exact way I've set it up once i get the equipment and get it loaded up with the programs.

Most artists do it that way. Recording is a completely different process than playing live and it's nice to get different tones to create different soundscapes. Plus it would be boring to go to a live show and hear the album that I listen to every other day. I want new sounds and new feelings coming from my favorite band. That's what makes the live experience unique. And that's what great bands strive for.

Just an awesome rig. These guys have it down. The rig comes onstage as a single unit. I was in the front row last week in Phoenix and you could see the guitarists drooling. In the search for the right tone he's found his perfect matches. I respect that he doesn't play a 59 LP with PAFs. What no one can copy or deny is the rich vocals and the musical sense of when to turn up and when to keep it low. Dan's a genius and he's smart enough to surround himself with talent like Dan Johnson.

Josh Middleton Vintage brands are what has slowed down innovation in the music industry. People want old 60 - 80 year old design because they THINK it sounds and works better and because there old idols used them. Which in reality the companys that do make the newer more advanced instruments and equipment are actually better. Like tube amps. Its an obsolete design that break down alot while solid state is becoming more and more the better choice but would have been here sooner if there wasent so many foolish consumers who dont want change and dont care or know enough because there old idols played threw super old tube amp and a lespaul

UndeadFleshGrinder its why all companys like gibson can get away with releasing and regurgitating the same shitty design over and over for the past 60 - 80 years

The designs like the Les Paul, SG, and ES are some of the most requested guitars that Gibson makes. If no one wanted them, they wouldn't make them. That's why many other companies try to recreate the styles.

Josh Middleton because people like the same old stuff that there favorite musician played back in the day. but companys with the newer hardware design do improve on those designs.

WELL overrated, ZZ TOPS' Billy Gibbons ten times better than this lot, in fact they copied much of their sound and licks from the best band on the planet STILL, ZZ TOP!!!
