The original is a blues classic by the great Muddy Waters, and lots of blues singers have done this, but this is the best interpretation of that song I have heard

Too bad that segregation and Jim Crow kept races separate during this period of time. Imagine the Righteous Brothers as a Motown group. They already sang Soul music which has nothing to do with skin color.

Growing up dirt poor back when singing in church or on the porch after chores, the these kids heard those kids. Mebbe someone had a radio if they were a little better off Street to street, out across the farm land, music showed we're all just folk.
@Evilroco4 жыл бұрын
They adopted the name after being proclaimed "Righteous Brothers" by Black audience members (or so the legend goes) so they clearly played black venues and you can tell from the music the love and joy that they got from the genre . Soul is colourblind . Stay safe all.

I am 74 and never heard that by them I did hear the same song sung by Foghat but a lot harder and faster. I think I probably didn't hear them sing this because in my day a song with this message wouldn't play on the radio. in my day they censored songs about sex and other things, oh how times have changed.💚

The Righteous Brothers version of "I Just Want to Make Love to You" was taken from their 1964 Album {Some Blue Eyed Soul}. The song's origin, "I Just Want to Make Love to You" is a 1954 blues song written by Willie Dixon, first recorded by Muddy Waters, and released as "Just Make Love to Me". The song reached number four on Billboard magazine's R&B Best Sellers chart.

Old Willie Dixon tune. Lots of people have remade it: Muddy Waters, Lou Rawls, the Animals, Etta James. If you want a real funky, rockin’ version, try Foghat. Best version in my opinion

The good ole days when a real man went to work so his woman could stay home and take care of him when he got home. Love it. It's so sad that the world has gone to the way it is.
@ryanm55785 жыл бұрын
"Real man" jobs aren't available that way anymore. It's basically impossible, unless super lucky, for a man to earn enough for a family sans the woman's earning potential. This song is a classic, but yearning for the days of these lyrics is wishing to regress as a nation; that sucks.

@@ryanm5578 I think it depends where you live, here in central Nebraska, it is very common for the man to work and the wife to stay home and raise the kids and take care of the household. It's what We do, and we have 8 kids, and most of our friends do similar, some are farmers, some are mechanics, I'm a warehouse manager. We just live within our means, and not of credit cards and obsessed with expensive toys.
