Listening to Bobby Hatfield sing is like listening to a whole choir. His voice goes anywhere he wants it to and it is pure and simple and sincere and rich. God took him from us too soon. Rest in peace Bobby, Your singing will live forever and you were this soul of the righteous Brothers

@@EmmaGS I know what you mean. I don't understand why he had to write such negativity about Bobby. It just didn't matter. Anyone who knew Bobby personally or professionally said that he was the nicest guy you could know. So I would ask Bill, "Are you perfect?" Bobby was a good husband and father. He took such good care of Linda, she suffered from lupus, and he always saw the she had the best care. All of his four kids adored him. He organized a golf tournament to raise money for lupus research, which brought in almost a million dollars. Yes Bobby had some issues, who doesn't? But besides being a great singer and loyal friend, he was simply a great man, and I miss him. It's easy to forget that he's gone.

@@dawnaberry8452 Sometimes, the less we know about someone, the better. I haven't read the book but I've read some of what Bill says about Bobby. Airing dirty laundry after Bobby's death was poor form. It might be all true but why did he do that? Was he jealous of Bobby? He obviously had things he needed to get off his chest. I truly wish he'd seen a shrink instead.

“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 73 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show . Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

Bobby is truly an angel with a voice to match. His rendition of Unchained melody is the most romantic song EVER in the history of time and will live on forever and he sung it it to perfection! His vocal range is probably unmatched. Thank u Bobby for giving your angelic voice to this masteriece and allowing it to live on forever .

The contrast between Bobby's tenor voice & Bill's baritone voice was fantastic. They sounded great together & played some great Rock N Roll shows that will never be repeated. They had a great wall of sound & their records were very well produced.

Loved this. They definitely were legends. Still today after all these yes Bill Melody is still singing in his 80's.Unfortunely Bobby Hatfield passed away in 2003 a few myths after they were inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME. I glad he lived to be there.

Two remarkable men who become the most remarkable duo, though their singles were as great. Bobby's genuine genius, his way of moving his body with the rhythm, his occasional shyness, and that glorious smile added to his one of a kind style. No wonder women of all ages are still - 2023 - falling in love with him. RIP Bobby.

Glad to hear their story from them. Like it or not music has been Black and White like the Culture. Both sides had issues breaking in the genre of the other. I honestly didn't know that they were white until KZfaq with Unchained Melody. Music has no color but... the industry. Thank you guys for persistence and like you said Being You... seemingly down to Earth and not into drugs

I love these guys. I wonder if anyone has run across a story that I read about Bobby being attacked outside a venue after a performance by two thugs. He was badly beaten, the article said, and was in the hospital for a while.

I tried to find what you were speaking of but only found an article where he was shoving his friend and then got pushed back, then he fell onto the pavement. He fractured his face and needed surgery. It was outside his nightclub that he owned with Bill.

@@maxfr142 yes … it was rough-housing while they had been drinking. Bobby didn’t want his friend identified so said it was an unknown mugger, the hospital reported it to the police so he had to ‘come clean’.

Zanhar has done some research recently, and the initial report that Bobby was attacked is correct. It was a bartender at the Hop who Bobby tried to stop from driving drunk while inside the club. When Bobby and his wife were walking to their car, he tackled Bobby from behind causing him to fall face first doing extensive damage to his face and knocking out his teeth and splitting his palate. Linda, Bobby's wife, filed a police report late the next day after he got out of surgery.

Ɓobby joined that "Hellofaband" 2003. But years before that he established the Bobby Classic Golf Tournament that raised millions for R & D in diseases like lupus, which his wife suffered from. He was great in so many ways.

I've become a huge fan of the Platters and have been reading about their experience singing live in the 50's. That's not long before the Righteous Brothers became popular. In the 50's black singers could perform for a white audience but they weren't allowed to look a white person in the eye. Concerts were segregated. Fences divided Negroes from the white audience. When they toured they were aware that the KKK could be waiting for them at their next stop because their performance dates were sent ahead. You're disgusted about no air time on black radio stations? I hope I've put things in perspective for you.

Yes, in a time when black people couldn't eat in the same restaurants, ride on the same buses, or drink from the same water fountain as whites, it was DISGRACEFUL that radio stations dedicated to black music didn't want to play their songs.

The ‘brothers’ were booked into a venue that turned out to be segregated…. They told the promoter they would not perform if it wasn’t de-segregated. They got their way…..
