a summary of the lore is that they had a friend called billlie love who went missing, possibly got kidnapped, after they left her out, and there's been different creatures too, and a lot of their lyrics seem to be about being different eg their 'bside/b'

Idk why people expected a concept similar to Gingamingayo, the mini album was always called "The Billage of Perception: Chapter Two" (a.k.a. Ring X Ring's mini album: Chapter Two), if it ever was going to be a softer or pop concept it would've been "The Collective Soul and Unconscious: Chapter Two" as Chapter One of that was Gingamingayo's mini album

@@lunarialoonatic Yeah, they're still rookies so they still have the window to experiment (reminds me of Red Velvet with their Red, then Velvet concepts), it's not like they established themselves as a "just quirky" or "just dark" group which would make this comeback too shocking (see Weeekly and "Ven Para")

The thing i love about billlie is that everything is just flowing together and i love their concept. And i love their lore. Their albums have many chapters. their first chapter is the first chapter before this album (chapter) and it's the opposite of gingamingayo. The instrumental is beautiful it's so good like i love it!!

@@PlanetMinjae there is development of realization and awakening in ring by ring then childish frustration and curiosity in gingamingayo and now we have rebellion. It really makes sense if you know the lore but also consider the process someone developing or understanding their place in the world would go through.

I absolutely loved this comeback 9/10 (9.5?) for me- the vocals slayed. every time I listen it gets better. also the b-sides were sooo good, I can't choose my favorite honestly, I was expecting the concept change just because of their lore and how all their previous comebacks have had a concept change so I didn't find it that surprising anyways stan Billlie!!!!!

The lore is truly unmatched You absolutely do need to watch the films. The songs are good in themselves but with the context of the lore it does add a pinch of salt on them This time it was pretty significant. Honestly stan Billlie for the cinematography and script writing lol

I feel that, true to form, Billlie's b-sides are immaculate. That's where they really bring it for me, and I'm always excited to see where they go with them. B'rave and $un Palace for me are the best songs on the mini album, but I love them all

i don’t usually care about lore but i watched their concept video for this comeback and i was in tears i’ve only seen bits and pieces of their lore before but i really got into it this time around which brings me to why billlie didn’t make a comeback that specifically capitalizes on tsuki’s virality, it’s because billlie has a very clear premeditated direction, it all correlates to their lore and a storyline, ring ma bell is my least favorite title track just personally but i’m very impressed with their ability and i’m not mad at all, this is just a preference also this is my favorite album overall, i’m so happy stanning billlie overall album score: 9/10

I´m kinda happy they didn’t. I mean, this is much more creative and I tend to enjoy this music as an Insomnia. The B-sides are not as "rockish" but are very well made. Great production.

I was expecting a review of this album but I kind of didn't expect it to be released so soon. I haven't listened to the full album myself yet, but I definitely will. This whole album seemed pretty promising from all the teasers and track drops. And now with your very positive review I'm even more sure that this album is really good. I'm a sucker for rock in general so I did definitely enjoy listening to Ring ma bell, and I totally agree that rap in rock songs can be a really nice thing. I don't listen that much to pop rock or rock that's not from Kbands/Kpop so I might be wrong, but it seems like rap in rock songs isn't really that common outside of Kpop/Krock. In my opinion that's such a shame, rap in rock just makes sense to me (quite often, not always). Of course that's a personal opinion but still.

@@moondaughter1004 Ah ok, I'll check them out more then. I know about them but I haven't heard that many of their songs (mostly because Kpop takes up most of what I listen to in general). Language doesn't really matter to me either. I was super happy when Måneskin won Eurovision with a rock song (that's also rly good imo). I mean I'm always happy to see rock songs in Eurovision cuz it doesn't happen that much but still. And yes I know Lordi also won Eurovision with a rock song, I just thought about Måneskin first because it's the most recent one put of those two.

I loveeeeeee the song I just woke up and the title is so good. The beat the vocals-LOVED IT. And then the album was great! And I’m so here for their pop rock concept. It reminded me of the debut which I prefer over their cuter concept. Even tho yes I agree that was their best era. Either way they did so good, the beat was so good. And the vocals were so mmm 😩. 10/10

I will say that yes it’s different but idk for me it kept similar vibes lyric wise. Ring X Ring = Ring my Bell. Personally I loved this comeback. I was literally just saying to myself a week ago that I wanted to see a girl group attempt the pop punk concept and do it justice. I said to myself I could see Pixie or Billlie doing it so seeing Billlie do it today? I was amazed!! The vocals and production, instrumentals were perfect!! They are slaying and becoming my favorite group in fourth gen.

For me, RING ma Bell is a 10/10 because I love rock in K-pop and I followed Billlie ever since their debut, they have really improved a lot for this comeback that’s why I’m giving it a 10/10! The perfect comeback for Billlie which will make them bigger! As for the B side, Mcguffins who’s the Joker is my favorite and $UN palace as well!

I haven’t listened to the whole album but I really do like the title track. As a fan of the rock genre, I love this. It’s even moving away from pop punk and into a full punk rock sound!! It’s moving away from this Disney channel rock music we’ve been hearing in kpop and more into the actual rock sound. While as a punk rock song it’s quite generic (it’s literally impossible to be unique within the punk rock genre because literally all the songs will use the same chord progression) it’s a relatively new sound within kpop. The only other group that’s gone this hard in the rock sound in kpop is dreamcatcher (also as an insomnia, I’m so happy, it’s like DC have a little sister group in the industry 😭) so yeah it’s a great comeback 10/10 I loved it!!

I mean Billlie's concept since debut has been they'll always be new and "never sound the same", their concept in general is just mystery with an adjective (snowy night - cozy mystery, ggmgy - strange mystery) i love billlie's music in general, and they're like the only music i listen to lately because i can't stop thinking about their music also it *is* b@ck 2 we belong, the billage is still trynna figure out why it's misspelled cause it's spelled with a 2 on youtube and other places, the "intern" (/j) just made a mistake on spotify it seems

Seriously tho, Ring My Bell have one of the hardest guitar riffs I've ever heard on kpop scene so far, probably after N.Flying's Lupin and Flowerworks which is my all time favorite j-rock slash k-rock song. That title track is ROCK rock. Also, the audio directing is top notch. Everything sounds balance af without over powering each other. Seriously one of the best rock song of this generation. And what made it held up is the members vocals who also suitable with the song. Most kpop group who try to do a "rock concept" tend to lack in the vocal aspect cuz they didn't have the right sounds to it. Other than the obvious rock vocalist like Yoo Hweseung from N.Flying and Lee Hongki from FT Island, the only group that actually have "rocker" vocalist that I could think of is Seventeen's Seungkwan, BtoB Eungkwang, Mamamoo Solar and Hwasa, and Dreamcatcher's Siyeon. Other than them, the idols who did the rock concept usually ended up being too soft-pop-y rather than pop-rock-y. But Billlie's vocals all held up well, they have power and passion and actually sounds like they were having fun. Even for the members with a weaker or softer voice, are all able to corporate their voice in a way that add something to the track. Everything is perfect and a definite 10/10 for me lol 🙈 I just hope the audio is holding up well in music show stage perfomance since they tend to downplay the MR to accomodate the singer's vocals :') the lack of real instrument sounds are really jarring in this kind of set up. This is one of the reason why I don't really like when kband have to perform on music shows, since they aren't allowed to play their instruments live for the sake of time managment 😭😭

I’ve only ever stanned one group in the time I’ve been a kpop fan, and am otherwise a fairly casual listener, and I gotta say that Billlie is the first group to have properly caught my attention in years. Thanks for the video, I’m stoked to hear that they’ve knocked it out of the park and I can’t wait to give this album a proper listen!

For B@ck 3 where we Belong, it’s honestly probably my favorite fan song by Billlie and I just really enjoyed it. Like you, I don’t care as much for slower ballad like songs but this one was really great in my view so I would give it an 9/10. The rest of the songs in this album are amazing but my favorite is definitely Mcguffin’s ~ who’s the joker?!!! Overall I agree that this album is a 10/10. No skips for me!

I wanted to write a long ass rewiew but it just feels like you took my exact thoughts out of my mouth, while i wasn't thrown away by the fact that RING ma bell was pop-rock, i definetly feel like it misses some of billlie's quirkiness and diversity that makes them so unique, but not a bad song by any means. ALSO what can i say these girls just never miss on their b-sides (b@ck 3 where we belong was a little overwelmhing but STILL) i loved to see a continuation of moon palace considering it's my absolute fav bside by them. My favorite song gotta be Mcguffins~ who's the joker, it was love at first listen🤩great video as always😊

Hi Planet Minjae, I am not sure if you know but Billlie had a summer song cover of a song called Patbingsu (Track by Yoon). The song is very summery and retro (I think it might be 1980s inspired based on the style and color outfits). I am surprised I haven’t heard a lot of people talking about it.

I like rock (I stan dreamcatcher), but this felt like every other pop rock song that kpop groups are putting out. it didn't stand out and I was hoping musical wise it would sound like ring x ring, but it didn't so I was kinda disappointed. it's an alright song, but nothing I haven't heard before and doesn't get me as excited like other billlie title tracks. however, even though I'm halfway through the album, the bsides are really good and I like them on first listen! my favorite so far is brave.

right there with you. RMB is missing the edge and experimentation that ring x ring has. i really love the rest of the album, i just hope they go back to a more unique sound for their title tracks bc this was a hard miss for me.

RING MA BELL is the weacker of the EP and I dont really understand why is the single, but the b-sides are one of the best of their discography, their improve is amazing, less than 8 months and is already one of the best EPs of this generation, Billlie have a great potential, im a stan since the first album and Im really happy for them and proud but their future worrying me so much since K-pop has beeing disbanding so many groups lately, I hope that numbers increase like them

I’d say the mini album is a 8/10 for me. I loved the title connections to other songs in their discography. This is my breakdown per track: RING ma Bell: 4/10 - not a fan of the pop-rock-punk sound in general, and there wasn’t anything particularly different to make me like it more than other songs of the genre in kpop (for reference my fave billlie tt is ring x ring, which I consider to be virtually flawless and one of my top 3 4th gen debuts) my B: 6.5/10 - ughhh it makes me so angry cause that synth is GORGEOUS AND PERFECT but unfortunately I really didn’t like the chorus :((((((( B’rave: 10/10 - somewhat reminiscent of “a sign anonymous” which I think was intentional considering the “~” in the title; regardless, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TRACK!!! One of those billlie bsides that reminds me of red velvet’s bsides and I love it $UN palace: 10/10 - I can see the connection to moon palace, especially at the very beginning of the chorus, but the rest of the song builds in a different directions so I’m no at all bothered by the similarities. Might actually like this a bit more than moon palace Mcguffins: 10/10 - WOW so many parts I love in this track, especially the transition and verse after the first chorus. LOVED the breakdown in the bridge and that last chorus. No complains, just pure enjoyment :) B@ck 3 where we Belong: 6/10 - nothing particular wrong with the track, just not my style. A bit too slow and power ballad-ish, not particularly fond of the acoustic guitar + lamenting vocal duo.

B is for B-side, the hidden aspect of every person. That aspect awakening evokes strong conflicting emotions in everyone who experiences it. So that's the meaning. B'rave is inspired by Roald Dahl. Sun Palace is the continuation of Moon palace actually. McGuffin is any passive component of the story that the story revolves around. For instance, a magic tree. You could switch it out for anything else and the story wouldn't change, it's just there for the characters to have something to chase. So the song is about focusing on things only to realize that they've been distracted from what matters - finding Billlie. It's a continuation of Rumor from the debut mini.

Really enjoyed this Billlie comeback, I was a big fan of ring x ring but not so much of gingamingayo so it was a pleasant surprise to see them change concept once again to something I really enjoy. Ring ma bell has heavy classic rock influences, I'm sure people will be quick to compare it to tomboy and some of txt and dreamcatcher's songs but for me this specific style of rock is a bit different to all of those other groups/songs. Ring ma bell is much more of a classic rock anthem type of sound where tomboy was very much a pop-punk song and txt follows more of a pop mixed with soft rock sound while dreamcatcher leans more into jrock fused with edm elements (though throughout their discography I think they've tackled most of the common subgenres of rock at this point). I'm a big fan of all of these groups, as I just love rock music in general, so it's nice to see more groups try out a different style of rock in their songs. Rock is a massive supergenre with many subgenres to pull from so I think there's definitely a lot of room for other groups to experiment with it and I hope we see it more often in kpop since there's a lot of room for experimentation with it. As for the bsides, B'rave is the standout track for me. It's just a fun quirky track with a lot of interesting precussion and a great baseline, 9.5/10. I'm a sucker for tracks like this and I hope it becomes a mainstay style for at least 1 track on their future albums. Sun palace and my B are also fantastic tracks, probably 8/10 for both but that's still exceptionally high for my rankings. Overall one of the best comebacks in recent months and maybe one of the best this year, I'll definitely be keeping them on my radar.

I really like RING ma Bell, it's probably my 2nd favorite Billie song. Personally I'm not a big fan of the B sides on this album but that's ok I'm super picky on the songs I like.

i love that they strayed away from gingamingayo concept and succeeded. usually, when groups do this after a very successful previous comeback, they try so hard the songs or the concept would be compromised but billie ate this up and left no crumbs

I loved the song a lot but the electronic guitar / rock elements could have been in the 1st and 2nd chorus as well. tho they ate it up with no crumbs left
