My Pro doorbell caught a burgular trying to force the lock with keys on my neighbor's door (single lady) in the middle of the day. He left & came back 2 minutes later & tried again. I used the intercom to scare him off. Turned video over to Management & Police. Neighbor didn't know the man & was frightened. She appreciates that I have the Ring Pro doorbell. I was happy to be able to help her.

I just installed a Ring Pro last week and the delay time was much less than what you stated. It is ringing my Iphone 5S in about 3-4 seconds after it sees motion and I can barely get a couple of steps closer and it lets me know. The video actually recorded is complete and starts immediately when motion is detected so nothing is lost at the start of an event. My menu is slightly different than yours and I do not have the magnify button in Live View as you do but I can pinch the video and magnify it and move it around on the screen. I also just started another install on a friends house of a Pro and his was packaged slightly differently than mine was. I think these are evolutionary changes that it's going thru and that's to be expected. The tech support has been good. I called for some clarification on the Cloud and received good explanations from friendly people and an e-mail contact and more follow-up the next day. I am very pleased with the performance and so far I have helped sell a few more to friends as they all liked it too. And Amazon signed a 1 Billion dollar contract with the USPS over a year ago to deliver packages for them and they will be out there on Sundays and at all hours in different vehicles than you are used to. I think they signed up Macy's too.

You can buy official wedge kits and corner kits for optimum doorbell placement.

this helped me alot I'm thinking of buying but I was concerned because my door bell is like yours on the side of the door and I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to make out anyones faces if I needed to so this review was so helpful

I also have a doorbell that was mounted "stupidly" as yours had been, and I had pretty much assumed this wouldn't be usable so I went with the ring stick-up cam instead. But now seeing how ridiculously wide the angle is based on your door & bell being set up exactly like mine, this doesn't seem like it will be a problem at all ... so I think I'm going to return the stick-up cam for this instead! The outside ding-dong sound is likely so that the person outside knows that the sound actually happened. Today as I was installing one for my customer, I rang the bell, but couldn't hear the inside chimes (only the little 'kick-me dog yapping away) so I wasn't sure if anyone would answer the door. After a minute or two, the dog shuts up (which I presume happens all the time, so the yapping mutt doesn't serve any purpose since the homeowner already ignores it's incessant plead to be kicked). After I knocked, the homeowner finally did answer and asked why I both rang the bell AND knocked. I think this is why the sound is outside too.

The placement of your old/new door bell is odd but it has some good security benefits like a view of your front door.

Is there any setting in the Ring app to select either 2.4GHz or 5GHz for the Ring doorbell Pro?

@4:03 it has to ring outside because it gives your guest the comfort that the ringer is activated & you are being alerted

10-15 seconds delay, that's bad. Our mailman never waits that long at the door. If we're not out there within 5 seconds, he's gone. The Amazon guys are even worse, they ring the doorbell then run like hell.

This is the first Ring video I have seen where the ring is on the side wall rather than facing out. Mine is on the right wall in the porch and closer to the door. Will this be a problem?

how many times can you press the button to hear a chime inside?

If you're getting that much of a delay my best guess is that there is a problem with you're wifi. What speed is your network capable of? How many items are connected at to the network at any time? Is your router at least dual band and are you connected to a 5 gig bandwidth? What is the distance and signal strength to your doorbell?

I initially got the video working, but after reinstalling with another bracket to get a better angle, I can’t get the video to reconnect to my wi-fi network after any attempts.

I heard the Ring Pro operates better on a doorbell transformer rated at 16 - 24Volts, does yours rate between this range?

It rings because in some old houses, you cannot hear the doorbell outside the door. It lets the person at the door know that it is not broken.

Hi buddy I'm sure you can contact the company and they will turn off the door bell sound outside via internet connection but this should be a option on your phone but it's not.

What does the front of the box of the *latest* hardware model look like? What are the differences between the different hardware generations?

What I want to know is why can't I see live feed from my ring floodlight on my phone when I'm not on the wireless network.

I have had the normal ring door bell for about 3 works and absolutely love it. Only problem was it kept going off every few minutes during the day with motion and killed the battery within 3 weeks. I tried to recharge it but woukdnt work so i called ring and they have swapped it for the pro as there was no way i want to keep taking it off every month or so to charge it. Currently I have it on WiFi but the pro will be hard wired. Will call an electrician to fit it. So my question is. As I also purchased the ring chime, would I still need to buy one of those digital chime boxes or can I link it straight to the ring chine plugged into the wall. Any advice would be appreciated. many thanks

u can save content on a thumb drive ... u said that u can download video clips from the RING Cloud so if you download a video and save it to the pc hard drive then transfer it to the thumb drive

If you buy this door bell, do you have to pay a monthly fee to use it or is that just an option?

Just installed a RING PRO but now there is a buzzing/humming noise from the other chime box (downstairs). One of the little 'hammers' in the chime box is vibrating and causing the noise. Tried disconnecting wires in the chime but then neither of the chimes, nor the RING PRO will work. How do I fix this? Thanks!

Would you be able to tell me the download and uploads speeds in your house for the Doorbell? Ring recommends 1mbps upload and download, but my image is not clear at 3mpbs upload and 30 download.

By the time you find your phone to view however rings your doorbell, they will probably have long departed. Perhaps this may work if you permanently solder your phone to your forehead assuming there is little notification delay after the ring.

Not everyone has a hardwired doorbell, can't see why RING doesn't do a plug in kit with a doorbell included.... is this really that difficult seeing as we pay £200 pound for this, don't think many would mind paying an extra £30 for everything instead of all the hassle of the installation problems that many people have... easy fix just make it a separate plug in system 🤔

I contacted Ring and they turned the outside chime off for me. Don't know why that feature isn't in the app.

Good review. I was thinking the people that only had this device connected via the inbuilt battery had this delay. But you where wired into power supply . I wonder how good. Your wifi signal is out side your door with the door closed ? That was a honest review subscribed. They ten second delay is the worrying part. A lot of people saying same on the reviews. Still. Cloud storage makes it, even more, harder to hack. If you were storing the clips someone could easily hack your network. I would like to see someone hack a cloud service for a security firm. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

The doorbell switch outside you shut the power off for safety reasons, it's max 24 volt DC, you couldn't even feel it, forget about getting shocked.

Ring is a nightmare product! I had one it lasted 15months, woke up one morning it’s DEAD! Called Ring. Nope they won’t replace it, they preached to me about warranty deadlines. Yeah for a $250 doorbell. Horrible Customer Service! When it worked it was very pixelated even with wifi range extender. By the way the first unit died within less than two weeks of purchase so they told me to go to Best Buy to exchange for another one. I did-well it lasted less than 15months. No Don’t get Ring doorbell!

$250 for stupid doorbell? Why don't you just purchase a functional security system with multiple camera. This is waste of money to me.
