They faced Ricardo 2 times in penalty shootouts. Best keeper I ever saw in pk's. 2004 and 2006

They where competing against a lot of great player like Zidane, Ronaldhino, Figo, Henry, Kaka, Buffon, Pirlo, Ballack, Gattuso, Viera, Cannavaro, Ronaldo, C Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Nedved. I don't think England where that good.

They had world Class defenders who won Champions League against those players and trophies against them. They didn't have tactics.

@@YusufEbryes they had great defenders but had no creativity. They lacked a genius like Zidane, Totti, Ronaldinho who could unlock defences.

They weren't a golden generation. The '96 team was better than the '06 team.

Huge part of the blame goes to Ferguson. He made his utd players not talk off the pitch or spend time with others. Mostly Liverpool 😢

Calling yourselves a Golden Generation means nothing just like now they call themselves the most valuable Team, Zidane alone had a Football brain bigger than the Whole entire English Team,

This is pure Facts, Zidane Pirlo Xavi were all way way better than Gerrard. Plus Lampard is better when he plays as a 2nd Forward or the Most advanced CM. The had him play holding Midfield. Rio and Terry dont have the pace if they get caught out. They should have played 3-4-3 with better holding Mids.

Gerard did not have the right fans Gerard was as good as lothar mattaus, but mattaus had the right fans for germany, while gerard for england did not have the right fans. When you have a player like gerard in your team you should be winning, its simply down to not have the right fans.
