What a tremendous loss. Gal was a shining star. A legend. I had the opportunity to see her and Jobim at Carnegie Hall in the 80s. It was pure magic. Have many of her albums and continue to listen to them. Her voice is so pure, ethereal, and soulful. Thanks Frank for this tribute to the one and only Gal Costa.❤❤❤

Justamente quando a democracia ressurge em nosso país, onde a CULTURA passa a ter seu devido valor, perdermos esse ícone da MPB, essa voz inconfundível, uma mulher admirável, que nunca se curvou diante das opressões de nossa história. @Liana da Silva 😞 Também se foi o Rolando Boldrin, 86 anos... Ainda sobre a Gal, ela me marcou ainda na infância, ao ouvir a voz dela cantando o tema da abertura da novela Gabriela (primeira versão). Sempre me senti um pouco Gabriela. E amo a forma como ela canta essa música. 💔

@@rosaagua7792 Na verdade ele não era sertanejo, o que atualmente seria até um insulto, ele era antes de tudo um verdadeiro artista "multimídia" numa época em que nem existia ainda essa palavra! ator teatral, cantor, compositor, radialista, apresentador e grande "contador de causos"! Atuou em muitas peças e novelas até meados dos anos 70, também cantava e compunha, normalmente para produções teatrais em que também atuava. Acabou se tornando apresentador de um programa sertanejo "raiz" na televisão e a partir daí "criou" um personagem "caipirão" paulista, inspirado nas suas memórias de infância no interior de SP, quase um "alter ego" seu, deste trabalho de pesquisa e resgate da cultura popular "caipira" e com as parcerias que foram acontecendo com grandes nomes "esquecidos" da música "caipira" ou com alguns (então) novos nomes que surgiram na época, começaram a surgir pérolas de sua autoria e também gravadas pelo próprio como o clássico "vide, vida marvada" e muitas outras obras -primas do cancioneiro caipira brasileiro!

Her talent was natural. With no struggle she sings beautifully and her timber is inique. She died at the age of 77 from natural causes, being really lucky and happy in life. Gal loved and was loved by her adopted son, her wife, her friends, her pets and of course by all her fans. Thanks for your so interesting reaction.

Beautiful tribute to this great artist, Frank. Brazilian music will never be the same without Gal Costa. Every day that passes, we lose a little shine for the people who leave, but their legacy will live on forever. I would like to take the opportunity to mention another great artist who also left us on the same day, our eternal Rolando Boldrim. Rolando was a singer, musician, actor and composer very connected to the country culture of Brazil. He was a great storyteller and wonderful interpreter of country life. I grew up watching your TV show called Sr. Brasil (Mister Brazil), where he took artists like Almir Sater and many others. If you are interested, I recommend a beautiful song called "Vide Vida Marvada".

The first time I heard Gal Costa was interpreting a song by Stevie Wonder in a Portuguese version called "Nada mais" and "Lately" with Wonder. I cried with so much emotion. With the announcement of his death I heard "Nada mais" from Gal's album entitled "Vaca Profana"... the tears came back that day!. Franck react to this song please!!! 😢😢😢😢
