Well tbh the 8gb is still viable in 1080p and 1440p in 99% of games it's only a few games, that the 8gb of VRAM struggles but it's almost entirely patched by the devs now

I'd personally recommend anyone looking at Performance level Turing to go 2060 SUPER anyways. 2060's not worth it these days unless you get it for STUPID cheap.

Pascal was and still is awesome. Used to rock a GTX 1060. Currently rocking a GTX 1080 Ti and it’s really fantastic. Trading blows with my friend’s RX 6600 XT. Even the 11Gb of Vram comes in handy in some titles.

With the additional vram I’d stick with the 1080ti, I sold mine a while back sadly, I remember playing games at 4k on that beast, currently also rocking a 6600 xt

I ran a 1060 3GB with a 4th gen I7 for years. Served me well for all of my flat-screen games and even ran PCVR on my quest 2 perfectly fine without issues until the day I upgraded.

That's literally my main PC right now. During the GPU shortage, my best friend gave me his 1060 6gb, and I got myself ryzen 3600, 32gb RAM and I've been playing everything I wanted at 1080p for 3 years, zero problems :)

Bro , I would recommend everyone to go for atleast 3060, never buy a pascal series in 2023 because it doesn't support dlss , don't you guys think where the market is headed? Its about software optimisation now , i,e you would see that the raw performance of rtx 40 and rtx 30 series are quite similar considering the generational shift but its dlss that makes the difference. SO please don't buy pascal now , atleast go for 3060 second hand.

@@kunalgusain6321no your partially correct there are some teens that don’t really have a way to gain money other then saving up or doing chores and usually make low money from that and it takes years for them to even buy like a 400$ pc and with a budget of 400$ you can’t really buy an rtx 3060 and can go with something like an rx 580 8 gb or a gtx 1650 , gtx 1070 ti , 1080 to , 1660 s some would be hard to even get in a 400$ pc And even one of those gpus plays games well on 1080p

I am emotionally attached to my 1050 ti, It will continue it's life in the same pc, but it's going on a break, for the longest time or the second longest time in it's life ever, I am sad, but I am also very excited for my upgrade. Idk man... on one hand you have to consider its a game that has to run on the Series S console, which is said to be like. GTX 1060 or 1660. But it may require a ray tracing card? It's not coming out for PC till like 2026 for PC so there's time. I would definitely try to match some kinda of ryzen 3700 ish CPU performance and a good SSD, it'll definitely be a SSD requires game like we've seen in other modern open worlds. At the very lowest I can see the minimum posted specs being a RX 6500/RTX 2060 if ray tracing is absolutely required. And a 2700x ish cpu, But if no ray tracing I can see it running barely lol

I had 1060 6GB since 2018 until I upgraded to 4070 in march this year. While it wasn't the best GPU even in 2018, it served me really well all these years. I could still play new games on mid-high settings in 50-60 fps and 40s on high-ultra settings in some games. I have a sentiment for this card 😁

Well, good choice, but I think you left some on the table. Depending how much the amd 6700 xt cost compares to 3060 ti. But for me there was no really difference in price. Performance wise the 6700 xt is just a tiny bit ahead but not much. I choice 6700 xt over 3060 ti pretty much just for the vram. First time owning amd card always had Nvidia. If the 3060 ti was 12 gb vram I definitely wouldabought that even do raw power off the 6700 xt is just a little higher.

Found out a few weeks later and debated returning my 3060 for one but I didn’t want to deal with the hassle. I also did get the card for a good deal at the time on sale for about $70 off

@@spfover Well I just got the card and i don't have any problems right now. I was really scared for that to and kinda wanted to go nvidia again but what i have read in the past the where really bad with drivers realllly bad but nowadays it way more stable, can't talk about my own exprience but what i saw/read it was way better and it just still a stigma amd has that it has bad drivers. Just look some linus tech tips where the installed them and the completly forgot the where running amd GPU LOL. So that speaks some about it. Also a reason why i took the change since i read pretty positively reviews on them nowadays and now i can Exprience myself how good it really is. But the battle between them is pretty much which one is cheaper where you live and it sound like you got a great deal mate. Have funn with your new card!

Love budget options. On Brazil the prices are unbealivebly high. This gpu is around R$1000, while the minimum salary is R$1412. And if you convert 80 dollars to reais, it's 397.70. That's, like, 60% of taxes and probably transport.

Also a friendly reminder that since 2016 we’ve barely moved the needle at all on graphics quality compared to some of the big titles that year, and most of them recommended a 1060. Star Wars battlefront 2 was a graphical masterpiece and ran just fine on them. The only major “improvement” we’ve seen since is path tracing, which currently slaughters performance on everything on the market while drawing insane amounts of power compared to 10 series.

I have a msi Duke 1060 6gb still works and all and I love that card. But I ended up withna 2070 and it died like after a year of owning it. Ended getting a rx5600xt for a 100 bucks which I used for a daily now without issues

I am still using my 980 SLI and it was great for everything until last year when the 4g of memory really reached its lifetime limit. I just don't think anyone fully appreciated how great SLI was in the beginning. Now I look forward to seeing 4090 SLI.

I ran a 1060 6gb a long while back and it was great and pascal is so awesome I upgraded to the 1080ti and I really only upgraded from that to the 3090 to tinker with things in development like ray tracing and see how dlss looked.

I do have a GTX 1060 but from Gainward and one fan of it starts to be goofy and it's probably not the end of the gpu if I replace that but finding the model and the exact dimension of the fan can be quite a challenge.

I picked up a $300 PC in May that has an MSI Z370-A PRO Motherboard, i7 8700k, 1060 6GB Turbo, 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 3000MHz Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler, and a Kediers C570 open air case.

Still using a Laptop Max Q version of the 1070, some of the stuff like the built in Wifi and keyboard failed on that lappie but the base hardware and GPU still does the job very well and external accessories and USB WiFi Adapter, that's enough for me.

For a psu i recommend a used tx750m its semi modular the only thing that a modular is the motherboard and one of the cpu power connector the second one is modular

I just bought a 1070 for $50. It's paired with a r5 2600 and 16gb ram that I bought with a Mobo and PSU for only $100. Case for $40. Had an old nvme drive from a broken laptop. Best gaming PC for less than a switch lite. Gonna overclock so I can hopefully scrape by in starfield.

Just played some games today on my RX580 (8GB) and Ryzen 3600 build. It survived the Furmark stress test at 80 fps avg. I also tested CSGO (high preset) which resulted in just below 400 fps. Fortnite got 88-106 fps on high preset as well. Seems pretty great for a $50 GPU. The 1060 wouldn’t make a bad option either, but I like two more gigs of VRAM for the same price.

GTX 1060 is still a usable card. But I can see someone drooling over a 30 or 40 series card. Its like seeing a hyper car you know you can't afford and hope one day you can drive one.

I was playing titanfall 2 last night on my i7 6700 gtx 1060 6g on 4k high capped at 60fps. No stuttering and afterburner said my Temps were in the 50s. I was told that my setup is garbage but it does all the things I need.

For a little bit more get a 1070. Iv been running it since it released and I still average 50 fps running Ultra wide 1440 on most AAA games. Obviously for smaller games I constantly get 120fps

I got the 1060 6bg just before the mining boom in a laptop. I travelled a lot for work at the time and it was the only way I could game. I upgraded to a 7600x and 4070super pc build recently most becouse of helldivers 2. If that 1060 had propper cooling id still be happy doing 1080p on low. The 1000 series of cards are GOATED.
