Helen has a heart of gold and honestly I wish I was more carefree like her. Its wonderful watching her not give a hoot what anyone thinks, just being completely herself and enjoying every moment. I've always cared far too much what everyone thinks. I'd be reacting the same way as you as I'd be embarassed but if everyone could be more like Helen everyone would be so much happier! 😊 I think you both balance each other out perfectly.

We did exactly the same thing, stayed on the £2 car park and did all the same pubs, loved the One Eyed Rat, absolutely love Ripon, it's great that the council allow overnight parking, all credit to them.

Your travels, unlike my own, have a chaotic character to them. I like the peaceful ambiance of a place and the nature that is all around us. I might go and investigate Ripon after I've done some research into what is worth photographing. I like to wander around unnoticed and explore a place and its history. It's strange how there seems to be hundreds of people choking the streets these days. Fifty years ago, I could walk empty streets wherever I went, because everybody was at work and housewives were shopping, not getting under my feet.

Just come across you guy's, and what a great start, having grown up in Ripon but left at the age of 15,I've only visited 3 times since 1970. When the Unicorn was a proper hotel my dad was head chef there, (weatherspoons).
