I agree. I’ll have to see how this goes. Hopefully I can fight compaction with cover crops only in a few years.

Everybody farms different. Nothing will work for everyone. Keep doing what you are doing. It works for you and that is all that counts. Love the 5088 too. What we do in New York isn't going to be same as you do. I laugh when you say you run old machinery. Looks a lot newer than what I run. This is just from one red guy to another. God bless.

Jeff I like watching KZfaq to see how other people do things around the world. And there maybe some new ideas I might try every now and then. Had some dairy people move here 9 years ago from Pennsylvania. Everyone had quit milking here years ago. They came here and built a big milking facilities. They do everything different from us. People including myself watched to see how bad they were screwing up. They didn’t and have become good friends of mine. Yes they have changed some of their practices but they know what they are doing.

The 5088 is looking good out there getting it done. I have always loved the look of that series. I wish that IH could have kept going. Lifelong IH owner here myself. Spent my youth piloting a 1466, 1086 and a 1486. Thanks for the video.

The last tractor my Grandfather bought new was a 1486. I spent many hours on it. It burnt a few years ago.

Thanks Keith! Tractor has been serviced but has sat for a long time. Thinking maybe something in the fuel tank. I have to change fuel filters pretty often on the magnum

I don’t know if it was mentioned but I would check to make sure the satellite that the ez-guide 250 is looking for isn’t set to waas 138.

Good question Randall. It came out of the Rogator we bought last year. I had satellite with the Rogator. I did have the same situation a few years ago with the 8930 and a fm750. It was a power issue. I will check everything out when I get a chance. Thanks for the info.

Russell I think if you screw your top link out and level the ripper out it might pull it a little deeper and not disturb the top of the ground as bad.

All parts of the country are different. I have 10 different fields in about a 5 mile radius, and they are all different. You do what works fo you and if someone is telling you your doing it wrong, they are not farmers. A true farmer would know better.

That scrap iron came from a previous owner of the farm years ago. No one particular in NY. Grumpy does things a little different but it works for him. Chris Duffy is a lot more different than me. Mike P and Andy Houarigan are Dairy farmers. All different but that don’t mean I’m gonna try to milk a black Angus.

This is a 4 shank and it’s pulling hard. I have contemplated on getting an older 4x4 tractor but it’s hard to find them with a 3 point also I can’t justify buying one just to do a few acres a year.
