There were details about her SL that I only realized when I played the game a number of times. She wasn't rude as people made her out to be, she was just awkward in interacting with the main characters. Like an alien trying to get a custom in a strange world. Could she have been implemented better in the overall main story? Absolutely. But I still enjoyed seeing her interact with the Investigation Team. Yes, her poetries are bad but that's the point. She's trying to awkwardly figure herself out and the only means she has are through her poems. I also think her choosing to create memories within the present and the future moving forward over the past (which she has been adamant in trying to discover for herself) was a strong turning point for the character. Idk... while I understand why many didn't like her, yet I feel she's a character that was hated on for the wrong reasons.

While I understand her attitude because she lost her memories, it could’ve been better and her social link could be much better , the proof ? Teddie , Teddie doesn’t remember anything yet his character was so much fun , when he went out to the real world , i was smiling when he wanted to learn something ( even if it looked stupid or “pervy”) and his social link was perfect, you can see how important he is and his memories to him by playing normally ( character development) , while marie.... she seemed forced .... her social link was alright but it felt unimportant as it is ( the last segment in her SL was good and can be a good conclusion for her ) but the game made her more important than ever to get the true ending so you have to spend time with her only for her to disappear, then when you learn her backstory , you will realize that if you fail to save her NOTHING BAD WILL HAPPEN but ofc the main character will help her ( and the player will help to get the true ending ). TL;DR : her social link was forced and was worse compared to teddie ( made the character unimportant) and her attitude was alright but can hated .

Yes, I haven't even played a persona before, I'm about to play persona 4, so I have been watching some videos. And she is so unique. What I mean is she stands out between all the girls. Is something I'm starting to predict that persona 5 will lack, I have seen some videos of persona 5, I have seen their girls, and even if they are all beautiful, good personality, good and original style that makes them different from one another... Not even one is like Marie, I'm not saying that should have another Marie in p5, I'm saying that it seems It lacks a girl with the main character vibes that Marie has 😅.

Marie will be a suitable rival for rise They are same adorable, talented in stage (being able to be a news reporter is a kind of acting skills too) and cute but I still like rise more

Marie ain’t the pinnacle of excellent character writing but I think people do misunderstand her characterization. Her rude demeanor hides her true feelings. She does care about her friends but she doesn’t want to admit these feelings outright, as shown in her boss fight in the Hollow Forest. Marie also doesn’t know her place in the world as she lacked her memories throughout most of the story, and until you came along, she lacked any form of bond with another person. The game makes a point how without bonds, life is hard for individuals. You see this with your teammates, social links, and the true culprit. Marie is no different but on top of lacking a bond, she has no memories of herself. Even Marie being a “Mary Sue” is explained by her being a deliberate parallel to you, the player/Yu Narukami. She’s literally the Izanami to your Izanagi. That doesn’t mean you can’t dislike her for whatever reason. Disliking characters is what makes these waifu wars fun. By the way, Naoto is best girl. You can’t dispute that.

fun fact: Rise's Seiyuu Kugimiya Rie voiced many tsundere character,known as tsundere queen while Marie Seiyuu Hanazawa Kana voiced many dere character.but, in p4 case this seiyuu switch their role here LoL...well,we all know,tsundere chara is so strong that many of them successfully pull protag from their dream girl.is it also applicable here??LoL

I don't like Marie's character, literally an insufferable tsundere. "B-but she doesn't know how to express her fweelings" -- I don't care. She still isn't interesting to me, nor to the general public (always bottom on the list in every persona poll btw kek), even with her lore and all. Best girl is still Chie, tied with Naoto; they're far more entertaining than Marie. Good thing Atlus learned from their mistake and made Sumi.
