King Aegon iv Targaryen the unworthy had countless number of base borne children, but of the handful that are known it would be Daemon Waters later Daemon Blackfyre that would write his name in the history books in the blood of House Targaryen as he would go on to almost bring down the house of the dragon all because of the misrule of his father king aegon. His rise would be one many did not see coming but not a huge surprise to those close to the king.

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.

Daemon Blackfyre is bit of a paradox he is honorable knight but try to overthrow great a King who wants peace even he was a victim of prejudice for being a bastard but benefit in his rebellion from prejudice against the Dronish and I think these examples of paradoxs in his character make him a good character.

Thank you for putting that so well I agree. Even his family has some of that complexity. Imagine being his Sons and Grandsons and you have this legacy to live up to of being a larger than life fighter and a man who brings people together easily on top of trying to go to war with the whole kingdom, so you and your supporters can go back home. I even wonder how much Maelys was actually this monstrous man or if he was just someone who was molded to become whatever everyone already saw him to be.

King Daemon Blackfyre had to take the throne it was his, and Bloodraven would have killed him, his family, and all his Noble friends if he did nothing.

First to take the black! aegon conquered the realm with his sister wives, Maegor put the faith in line, Jaeharrys & the good queen UNIFIED the realm Viserys the first, his frivolousness over guilt would lead to the Dance of the dragons which cost house Targaryen their Dragons.. Which without that event we would not have THE BLACKFYRE REBELLION which truly lead to the Destruction of house Targaryen. So many wars and lives were lost Not to mention Both ancient Valyrian Swords: Blackfyre & Darksister would go missing… Thanks for this video, the Blackfyre rebellion really is a tragic but fascinating generational conflict.. That gave us so many epic characters in the show; Tywin, AERYS II,The black fish, Walder Frey, Melys the monstrous, the golden company, Aegor Rivers & let us not forget Sir Barristan Selmy of the kingsgaurd, the man who single handily Put an end to Melys during The War of the nine Penny kings…

Named after Westeros's original bad boy. No wonder people may have had reasons to feel uneasy. Daemon Targaryn known for running riot and unchecked across Westeros and Essos. Dangerous and dancing the fine line between mad and great. The ultimate Targaryn. Daemon Blackfyre becoming the cautionary tale about all baseborns. Cocerced and flattered by lickspittles into pressing his claim. Is respected as a warrior and commander during his life but is literally the first person someone in Westeros thinks of as the embodiment of a b******* in the current book series.

Aegon surely believes that Daeron was the product of his brother and wife. So he legitimate Daemon and he wished Daemon to be the right heir. Actually Aegon 4 really loves 9 women. That was his words but in the deeper mind he loves his cousin Daena that is why he rescued her from maidenvault. But Daena had a relationship with Aegon not loves him.

@@aegorbittersteel2154 1) he was a bastard so it doesn't matter 2) Robert Baratheon was a godlike fighter and charming man, these are great qualities in a general but not in a king during peace times (which is what he would have had if he had won/been legitimized) that's the whole entire point of post Roberts rebellion rule 3) had his father not been spiteful and had so much faith in his son he would have legitimized only one son, he did them all not only out of spite but to hedge his bets 4) his half brother and only legitimate son of the king and queen was a FAR superior king hands down

I'm going to compile some comments I've made regarding Daemon Blackfyre on Reddit below: I've long suspected that it was Aegor and Quentin that were the main reason for the rebellion. The reasons that we are given for Daemon rebelling make little to no sense. I think it was Aegor and Quentin along with a few minor lords (Peake) who conspired to force Daemons hand. It just makes no fucking sense why a man like Daemon would do what he did considering his primary character trait is that he was super honorable. A super honorable man would not raise his sword against his own brother unless forced to do so. Unless some outside force compelled such action. A "happy red and black dragon" scenario would have been more than possible if Daemon had been less friendly with Aegor and Quentin.

There's also the question of how and why Brynden got that info. I know we all love to blame Bloodraven for everything. I mean it's a funny meme, and Brynden is fun to clown on... but I think it was Aegor who "misplaced" some info that happened to find it's way to Bloodraven. I really do think Daemons hand was forced, it really doesn't add up otherwise. There's not much to be gained by fighting a war as Daemon and all his sons were already in line for the iron throne as Daemon was legitimized. Aegor was toxic, and his hatred for Bloodraven and his lust for Shiera pushed him, not Daemon, to rebel. Daemon was the excuse, not the cause. Lords who were unhappy with Daeron took up the black dragon banners not because they were super loyal to Daemon, but because through Daemon there was something to gain.

I know I'm coming down hard on Aegor and Quentin. But THEY are the two individuals with far more to gain than Daemon. Daemon and all of his sons were ALREADY in line for the throne. Daemon had his own land, his own castle, his own wife who had provided him with multiple healthy children, and also, he had the legendary sword of the conquer. This man was doing just fine for himself. Why would he choose to rebel? To risk the total ruin of his house? It really doesn't add up, I'm sorry, but I call bullshit.

Brynden may have also had a greendream about a war and when he heard Daemon was intending to press his claim he jumped the gun and tried to have Daemon arrested, thus starting the rebellion he was trying to prevent. I know the "self-fulfilling prophecy" is a trope to be sure.... buuuttt: "Born amidst salt and smoke, beneath a bleeding star. I know the prophecy.” Marwyn turned his head and spat a gob of red phlegm onto the floor. “Not that I would trust it. Gorghan of Old Ghis once wrote that a prophecy is like a treacherous woman. She takes your member in her mouth, and you moan with the pleasure of it and think, how sweet, how fine, how good this is … and then her teeth snap shut and your moans turn to screams. That is the nature of prophecy, said Gorghan. Prophecy will bite your prick off every time.”

In the case of this specific video the Baleor and Aegon iv sections of The World Of Ice & Fire and the limited info we get in the main books. In terms of my other Targaryen videos, Until the end of the regency of Aegon iii it is mostly Fire & Blood, The World Of Ice & Fire and a little bit from the main books.
