Why nerf anything in an non competitive game... Like who we cheating the NPCs...

Don't normally comment at all online but felt like I had to voice my opinion. After watching you "STYLE" in your videos of Rise of the Ronin, I was impressed with the flow of combat that I had to get the game (which I did) so I could attempt at playing it like you. Only just started my journey in Rise of the Ronin but It's sad to see that a good mechanic for the game that doesn't ruin it in anyway and gives you other options of how you want to style in combat is taken away before I could even try to use it which is abit of a let down. It would have been different if the game was pvp but for a single player game? The SOLE reason that I got the game was to style in combat and create cinematic moments to enjoy. Thats all I had to say, keep up the good work GBG.

I have a question about Gikei Ryu stance’s Double Shadow martial skill. What does it mean when it says you can alter your shadow by tilting the left stick? I’ve tilted it up or down and I don’t notice any change with the move at all. Do you know what it is? Could you also explain and tell me the inputs you used at 14:43?

How do you do the second over head attack from nioh ryo stance? I thought only veiled arts can cancel the violent gale now? The first time through you cancel violent gale with r1 + triangle? And then attack with square? But then you switch back to gekki repeat and the second time you swap back to ryo nioh stance are you not already in high stance? Do you r1 + X or square and them back to r1 + triangle to cancel violent gale second time through?

I feel like they should have just given buffs without the nerfs. The A.I has an insane amount of ki and hyperarmor on many moves. Not everyone has the dexterity to make 2 or 3 inputs per second and should have the option to cheese if they choose. If we had PvP I could understand some of these nerfs, but its PvE where we should play how we want. Thats the whole point of buying a game. I say this as a man who doesnt have the time to "git gud" the way I used to.

You probably have played way further into the game at much harder difficulties than me so I was wondering are there any special armors that you can get at higher difficulty levels or in new game plus? I really want Aritomo Yamagata’s armor just can’t seem to get it.

They did this with the nioh series so I am honestly not surprised at all. Anyone remember wild spear cancel or ultimate raijin? TN is pretty insistent in making their games a no fun zone, and the only game where they let loose a little bit was SOP and that was co developed with squenix.

Now I have seen how people use earthly flame and ye they do spam it. Now I dont know how earthly flame was nerfed but I do know that it was indeed broken and really it did indeed deserve a nerf (not sure if it should be done in a mostly single player game but again if it makes it more balanced and doesn't make things easy then ye do it). In fact, it was my favourite move to use when it came to breaking an enemy's stance, so for me I technically didn't spam it, but more used it because it was honestly the beat efficient way to break a enemy's stance. Regardless though I will say it is a shame about what they removed, because I was actually considering to learn it and do some pretty clean kills and so fourth and so on. Maybe even use it as a form of advantage against my enemies to have an upper hand on them. I guess I'll still be able to do mos things that aren't removed, but It still sucks. However, even though I'm on your side on this, I will critique one thing. Yes earthly flame was broken and ye some people liked to use it as a way to kill any boss in less then 1-2 seconds, if your build is monstrously good. But dont bloody say "it breaks everyone's enjoyment" because that is bullcrap you made along the way without thinking about it properly. Let people play how they want to play. They are not ruining your enjoyment at all. They are not invading your game and killing you easily off, and yes sure they are killing bosses in a brainless way but they are NOT ruining your enjoyment. That is their own savefile. Not yours. Besides, the game gave them this opportunity so why not use it? Obviously it's up to you whether you want to go into the cheese realm but personally for me I would not, and you wouldn't as well. But the other guy will because that is how he wants to play.

The original moveset is great and the cancel was cool but it’s ok if it’s not there is not like everyone was doing it and it was broken. There’s a very little amount of players that use cancel and don’t see the point . It’s very enjoyable to watching it on KZfaq that’s for sure You should do a poll for see how many people uses cancel vs people that enjoy the gameplay just as it was intended .

Hope they add PVP....that will be really really good and funny...

I really wanted to like this game, but I don't, and it's for the same reasons as Nioh. Mainly, it's overcomplicated. Too many weapons, too many stances, too many items, crafting. Then, there's stiff animations, jumping sucks, traversal (which was hyped up in the trailers) isn't fun, A.I. is stupid and stealth is a joke. Why can't Team Ninja just partner with an indie developer and make a new NES-style Ninja Gaiden and then a back-to-basics 3D Ninja Gaiden?

I’m not sure why devs are so against high level cancelling mechanics. Even many players are against cancelling when I complain about it on forums. They use the excuse that it forces you to be more strategic in choosing your attacks because you must commit to attacks. I think it’s a load of crap. Go play a souls game if you want that. This is an action game. Canceling should be plentiful and a core mechanic in every game like this. I was pretty frustrated with Stellar Blade as well for having so many restrictions on cancelling.

I hate when devs nerf pve games. I was loving my status effect build exploring each map and still haven't beat the story yet. I'm 50 hrs in but with these nerfs I don't feel like going back to it😢. I've alot of games on backlog so I think I'm gonna drop this for a while... 😢😢

I really don't get it. It's mostly a single player game. Why can't they add all those cool skills when it's already in the game? Same thing with the Nioh games when bosses have awesome abilities and we can't get them, but when we do actually get them, we get a really weak version of it....

Why do big game developers, such as yourselves continue to ignore their players? It seems to be killing their games and their player base and people's joy. I finally had so much fun, after many years of gaming, when I've tested the fire build on Rise of Ronin for the first time. After 420 hours of gameplay! I mean, to feel overpower for one single time in my entire gaming history was like, Wow no words to explain it. I know for sure, that many of you people, that are reading this comment right now feel stupidly amazed, to hear that. For one second, if you try just to understand or imagine how frustrating life is, you should never be able to think about ruining people's fun. This patch was not a fix for the game, but a killer for the fun. In this case my fun. I've felt so upset, that I thought about contacting Sony and asking them to cancel my purchase, but then I thought again that this game for me, is a masterpiece! It is no longer as fun as it used to be, but it's still my favorite game of 2024, so far. Then I realized, that games are no longer made for fun, no longer to escape from reality, or to relieve ourselves from the stress of everyday's life. Games have becomes the equivalent of real life jobs. A infinite grind, with no end in sight, without any worthy rewards. In some games it doesn't matter how much time a gamer spends, the outcome is the same.

Is it me or am i the only person here that thinks balance and challenge is more important than "looking clean", team ninja games are always better once the games become balanced through updates, exploits completely break the game and trivialize the difficulty, it being a single player game doesnt mean its ok for it to be completely unbalanced and riddled with cheap exploits, wo long, stranger of paradise and even nioh 2 are all still very active games BECAUSE they have all been out long enough for team ninja to balance them, they make everything viable without trivializing the challenge, overcoming a challenge with the build of your choice is the most satisfying thing about these games, if you could just trivialize the difficulty by breaking the game with cheap exploits it would ruin the satisfaction ppl get from overcoming a challenge by fair means, balance is just as important in single player games as it is in multiplayer games, especially in difficult games where the satisfaction comes from overcoming the challenge

Those cancels just felt like cheap exploits, im glad their gone, the game feels much more balanced now, they shouldn't of been there from the first place but this will do, anything that trivializes the hardest difficulty is a bad thing, those exploits made an already easy game just pathetically easy, anytime during coop when i saw someone using them i left, it cheapened the difficulty and honestly it kinda pissed me off, its a lazy exploit that ruined the challenge

Im sorry but nioh 2 is a much better game now with all the updates, its so much more balanced now, im sorry but especially in a soulslike, balance and challenge is far more important than breaking the game with exploits and "looking clean", casuals dont care about balance and challenge, only a serious gamer would care this much about those kinds of things

They remove the ki pulse after switching stance cuz it was doing those hidden npc move u shouldnt be doing. They couldnt fix it properly so instead just wont let u ki pulse after stance switch
