Risk Assessment Tool Helps Probation Officers

The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts developed the Post Conviction Risk Assessment (PCRA) tool to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of post-conviction supervision. PCRA helps probation officers identify which persons to target for correctional interventions, what characteristics or needs will mitigate future criminal behavior, and how best to deliver supervision and treatment. The PCRA tool is an Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) that guides an officer's decision about what level of risk an offender poses and what interventions would be best to reduce recidivism rates.

I’m on probation. I’m 43 years old. I have never committed a crime but I got convicted of a crime for using my 1st amendment rights. My probation officer ignores me and pretends I don’t exist. I imagine he knows I’m not at risk of committing a crime. Probation officers do a really good job. Judges and district attorneys are the ones who are out of control and determined to have a 100% conviction rate so they can get re-elected. Thank God for juries. If no jury is present then you will get convicted. Probation officers see this bull all the time. I think judges should be appointed and not elected.
