MPS Digital Photography presents a talk with Rita Nannini, a conceptual documentary photographer based in Brooklyn. Nannini’s work explores different ways of viewing.
Nannini has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions at New Jersey State Museum; the Griffin Museum; Los Angeles Center for Photography; Photoville; Princeton University; Beit Hatfutsot, Israel; and Konica Minolta Plaza, Tokyo. Her work has appeared in major international publications including Photo Book Journal, Frames Magazine, Lenscratch, The Eye of Photography, Art Daily News, Time Out, The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Newsweek, Die Presse, L'Obs, Yomiuri Shimbun, Welt am Sonntag and The Jerusalem Post.
Nannini is a 2021 recipient of the New York City Artists Corps Grant. Her first monograph on all the terminal stops of the New York City subway work was released in April 2023. Nannini also received grants for photography from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The i3: Images, Ideas, Inspiration lecture series has returned to in-person events. The series continues to feature leading photographers, artists, editors, gallerists and industry experts. The spring 2024 i3 lecture series is hosted and curated by Julie Grahame, curator, editor and vice-president of the American Photography Archives Group.
