Dead Bait Fishing for Pike on a river during winter. Pike fishing, especially River Pike Fishing with deadbaits is one of my favourite types of fishing during cold winter months, and this film presents a few clips to show you a bit of that magic around pike fishing. During that time pike are putting the weight on, are in their top condition and pike deadbaiting fishing can be truly amazing if you hit the right spot on the right day.
Pike fishing using deadbaits and the bottom ledger set up. Pike fishing on the river, for hard fighting big pike in the beautiful surroundings of the Irish countryside. Hectic action of pike takes and pike fight during an amazing sunset.

I've alot of respect for u dude. I'm Irish and get really pissed when I see d heads fishing for pike just to eat them ,..so refreshing to see a foreign person like yourself just loving pike and caring for the fish so much. Respect bro ! 🙏👍

Same here from a fellow Irishman and pike angler. Alot of eastern Europeans have bad practice of taking big pike to be eaten and not in it for the sport and for the future of great fishing. Amazing video and brilliant to see the fish being cared for and released back strong and healthy. Respect to u sir. Top class fishing

Love this. My dad started travelling to Ireland in 1978, and took me with him for the first time in 1998. I've been back 21 times ever since. It has always been lovely, with pike over 30lbs caught as well. My personal highlight was a roughly 25lbs pike on topwater, just last year. But I've never tried deadbait fishing in the winter over there. Just got into it over here in Germany/Netherlands. I'll definitely have to give it a go. Looks brilliant!

come on over guys ,god I remember 70/80 /90 ireland was full of English fishermen ,now very few ,I know it got very expensive ,and they moved elsewhere ,but I live here now ,and I must say were spoiled for choice ,this time of year Pike fishing , u could have the whole river to yourself .that's how learned how to fish properly ,taught by an English man ,and I I haven't looked back ,.

A bit slow reachin some of those Delks lads 😒 Don't put faffing around with the camera ahead of pike health... unhooking a deep-hooked pike can turn into a nightmare, even with barbless...😓 And if it means that we miss a little action I'm okay with that... ☺ Okay rant over.... congratulations on a red letter day, that crisp frosty morning just calls to all us pike anglers... 🤗 Nice to see that all the pike are not yet gone... 😏 My favourite bait is lamprey btw.. 😬 👍😎☘

thanks for the comment Peter, always happy to get some feedback. Fish welfare is the top priority, no questions about it. I once deep hooked pike when I started piking and since then I learned my tricks, fortunately never happened to me again over years of piking and barbless hooks do help a lot. 2nd and 3rd run happened just as I was unhooking the previous pike and in my mind, the welfare of fish I had out of the water was more important in that situation and to let it rest in the water asap was the priority. Sometimes they don't read the script it turns out :)

@@MarcinKantor I remember a fantastic spot I used to fish at in co cork years ago. It took just one person to see us unhook a high 20 for the damage to be done. Two weeks later it was full of every idiot you could imagine... one guy was fishing 18 rods 😡. Hope you’re still enjoying your pike fishing!

@@MarcinKantor they are such amazing sport on the fly but I miss the scream of a bite alarm, the anticipation and the rod bending right over... I grew up on deadbaiting for pike 😉. I live in Austria now and it’s not really very good for pike fishing. The trout fishing is very good though! Hopefully get some piking done before the end of the year. thank you, well it's mainly see fishing as you must well know and it's amazing fishing there when it gets a bit warmer. A couple of small ponds with some coarse fish in it, but very sparse

It's 1:45 drive from Dublin, liffey is a waste of time Mark. If you want any decent pike fishing you need to travel towards Midlands or North West for at least 1h. Countless options there, every lake or river will have pike

Hi Marcin, never got to fish the Liffey today the rain was to bad the last couple of days so river was way to fast. I went to a small local lake/pond but was very productive over 70 fish 90 percent small but good crack all the same. I'll keep you posted on the Liffey when I get out 👍

Zdecydowanie mniej skuteczne niż w lato, jesień ale dalej działa. Moje doświadczenie jest takie, że na dużą rybę jest większa szansa na trupki w zimie

How ye Martin I love the videos but I think it's important to give the name of the location which I know isn't all ways possible but name lake r river etc and date time of year would help a lot. Great videos tough keep up the good work

Good try there my friend 😉 seriously however, I'd never share any locations publicly. Unfortunately, some people are not as respectful as others, and the spots would quickly be overrun and destroyed. Sadly again, not everyone practises catch and release, therefore it is a very bad idea to be sharing any locations publicly! Tight lines
