I think he was one of those rare old souls and was too sensitive for the world as it is and I think that is was his downfall . He was precious cause he cared so much . So sad , another sweet soul gone too soon

It turns out that River has become a very important love in my life even though I never met him.

Two nights ago I had a dream about River. I was with my friends somewhere in downtown Hollywood, and we got lost. While my friends asked for directions, I saw him leaning against the wall watching everyone walk by. I didn't realize it was him at first, but I was really drawn to the jacket he was wearing.... it was one of those authentic nineties denim jackets with a few pins on them, so I walked up and told him I really liked it. He was very laid back, and he said thank you. He was really kind to me, because I was obsessed with it! As we talked I recognized his face, but I was calmer staring into his eyes. It's like.... he knew... that I knew who he was... and was okay with it. A few minutes went by as we talked, and my friend yelled behind me, "who are you talking to?" And I said "I'm talking to River!" And when I turned around he was gone. Earlier that day I learned about him, and I was so sad that I wrote a letter asking why he left, and that I wish I could've known sooner. A part of me wonders if it was just wishful thinking, or that river actually visited me.... spirits, no matter if they were famous or not are free to come and go as they please, and at times walk among normal people like you and I. It's possible. I wrote a letter to him and I wonder if this was his response.....

He was born a year before my only parent left mom & I feel like he's just with me at times, I found out bout him recently but it's sad how media isn't mentioning him anymore so younger generation can see this gentle human being.. I just can't shake him out of my thoughts he's just really such an amazing person, I never felt this way about an actor/singer & it's hard to know he's no longer alive but I really love him.. such inspiration ❤❤

i was born 10 years after this beautiful person became an angel, i never met him, never lived in the same time as him, never got to see him thrive, but i can't explain how important he is to me. it isn't romantic attraction, just very strong weird bond i feel with him. i wish we get a chance to meet in heaven.

It "SUCKS" sooooo bad this young mad had his life stolen from him at such a young age. And even the way he had to leave this earth. I was absolutely devestated when I heard the news of his passing. River Phonix was here long enough to leave an everlasting impact on almost all of us. His acting, as well as his musical ability was endless. It's hard to believe it has been over 30 years since his death. I still see movies and clips of him and feel like he's still that vibrant young man that entertained us for several years is still with us, but reality sets in and I realize he's gone. A bright shining star that burned out way, way too soon. "WHY?" Rest in Heavenly Peace always River!!!
