If you're looking for night fishing in the Collingham area of the tidal Trent - Booking Rob & Julie's paddock is a great choice.
Join me for an overnight session on the paddock - It's located just up-stream of the famous Collingham conveyor. I'll show you the swims, how I approach the session and see a few Barbel landed from the stretch.
You can book Rob & Julie's paddock by contacting Julie via Facebook/Messenger. (Julie Lloyd within the Facebook Group ' The Real River Trent Angling Group')
I choose to fish the nearside margin in the deeper water as the Trent level at the time of filming was very low. Watch out for the Mitten crabs if you fish this section - They were very active with baits usually gone within 1.5- 2 hours of casting in. (including hard hookers)
A few small changes made to my recent River Severn sessions, with the Korum 2.25lb TC Big River rods in use rather than my usual 1.75lb TC Korum Barbel rods.
The equipment used was as follows -
Korum 2.25 TC Big River rods
Shimano ST4000 baitrunners
ESP Synchro 12lb line
Korda IQ 8lb Flurocarbon hooklengths
Size 8 wide gap hooks
Korum camo running rig setup
Korum river pod
Delkim TXI-D alarms with snag ears
Rig Shark Tip Lights - (I recently purchased these from Angling Direct)
Rob & Julie's paddock is a great choice for the Collingham area albeit popular so you'll need to wait a while for a slot - It's well worth the wait though.
It's bookable for either a Mon-Fri or Fri-Mon session - This video was filmed across the first 24 hours of my session.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your own angling. 👍🎣

Rob. I went to Eardington. I caught the river just right. First day on the stretch, 5 inc 2 8's and a 9, Second day, different peg, river rising but before the muck came through. 10 Barbel Inc. 3 doubles, atleast 1 9. I didn't weigh all of them but obviously the doubles. Third day back in same peg, coloured up and full of leaves. Difficult but 1 about 6 ish then a 10.04. Last day, different stretch. Difficult with all the rubbish. 1 bite. 11.05 Severn pb. 20 Barbel in total ( 2 on Monday from yet another stretch). Pictures on River Severn Barbel fishing if you do that. Thanks again Rob. 👍

Another cracking vid rob well in pal.. what part of the Avon are you hitting?
@RobsAngling
@RobsAngling 9 ай бұрын
Thanks mate - I need to have a good walk around a few Avon stretches.. It’ll likely be Fladbury, Bidford or Pershore. Any recommendations?
@marshallart113
@marshallart113 9 ай бұрын
@@RobsAngling Fladbury below the bridge is a good spot.. I don't know if you can get behind the pegs atm with the amount of rain we've had.. I normally park just over the bridge in the car park N walk back down.. there's steps just over the bridge down to the stretch. If you fancy a day ticket spot you could allways do the manor farm bit.. a 19 came out last week.. just bring plenty of bait 😉 The Avon is very clear atm so quite hard going tbh..

@@marshallart113 Thanks mate.. It'll be taking a drive down in the next 1-2 weeks and will have a good look around a few stretches. We could definitely do with some more rain!

@@RobsAngling I'm off for a drive around alot of the baa stretchs over the weekend. To see what's what and have half hour in a good few pegs. One per stretch is the plan.. I'm luck to live just 15/25 mins from most of them .
