A couple non-troll constructive comments. 1) Only use a kinetic recovery rope for other vehicles. You were right to use the non-stretch tow strap. 2) When you are the pulling vehicle (under drivetrain stress), always pull in forward gear attached to the rear of your vehicle. This is because of the gear design (differentials in traditional vehicles, drive gearboxes in Rivians), which is stronger in forward than reverse. I've witnessed multiple blown up diffs from reverse pulls.

One of the main reasons I did it in reverse, was first of all it was easier, since the hook was already ready to go. And secondly, I wanted to see the value of having the forward facing camera, watching the stump. Of course, that could’ve happened in the other direction just the same, but for some reason, I didn’t think of that. :-) and this way, I could see out the windshield as well as the screen. also, I knew it was a very light pull so I wasn’t concerned about straining the driveline. But good feedback nonetheless. Thanks.

When pulling stumps, roll your spare up to the stump, run your strap over the spare, and then attach to the stump. The backwards pull on the strap will cause the spare to roll, and lift the stump instead of pulling straight backwards. Can also be done with a thick post (rail road tie or other?) at an angle, but a spare is usually an easily available option if you don't have a post you want to cut down to the right size...

The “ball end” of the soft shackle slips through the “loop” in the other end (but you need to loosen it first)

Please research how to hook up a soft shackle before you actually need it. You used the wrong loop which would cause it to slip
