“Social inequity causes suffering and shorter lives.”
Michelle Kelly-Irving (L'Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (Inserm), France) dives into the theoretical foundations of health inequity research. In her keynote, she refers to the concept of embodiment - the process in which societal and ecological inequalities are translated into biological responses.
The Robert Koch Colloquium is an annual interdisciplinary lecture series, each year focusing on one specific innovative public health topic, such as Digital Epidemiology (2017), Human Microbiome Research (2018), Burden of Disease (2019) Public Health Surveillance (2021) or Climate Change and Public Health (2022).
The theme of this year's Robert Koch Colloquium are Social Inequities in Health. Lectures are held in English.
