"Inequities are the aim, but we measure inequalities.”
Terje Andreas Eikemos, (Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway) highlights the importance of monitoring as a key to observe development of health inequalities over time, reduce the gaps and inform society and policy makers. Based on examples from the Centre for Global Health Inequalities Research (CHAIN) he shows various aspects of health inequalities in country comparisons, also highlighting the necessity of closing existing data gaps.
The Robert Koch Colloquium is an annual interdisciplinary lecture series, each year focusing on one specific innovative public health topic, such as Digital Epidemiology (2017), Human Microbiome Research (2018), Burden of Disease (2019) Public Health Surveillance (2021) or Climate Change and Public Health (2022).
The theme of this year's Robert Koch Colloquium are Social Inequities in Health. Lectures are held in English.
