@@and_I_am_Life_the_fixer_of_all All bots are self trained, and the way you train them determines how good they are. For example, I can let a bot play the game by itself and it might become really good, but it also might never learn how to do certain stuff. This is the main problem to get past, how do you train a bot to pick up something that most RL players cant even do? And if the bot actually picks something up, it also could determine it might not even be useful to them because of how the bot was trained to begin with. It's insanely hard.

Makes sense because the best way to defend a flip reset is to challenge when it happens, or to wait until the weaker shot from the flip. KC has an insane clutch factor and is the only team to consistently beat all of the French 4. BDS consistently beats Gentlemates but loses to KC. KC lost to M8s once but apart from that they destroy them. KC beat Vitality multiple times. Oxygen is the only team outside of the French 4 in eu that gave KC a run for their money. In fact I think they’re the only team that has beaten KC before game 7 (or game 5 I. A best of 5). No discredit to O2 but KC have shown the consistency and are still the best in the world with only Falcons on their tail. Oxygen are looking at that top 4 spot in EU and they just might get it

The real advantage the bots have (aside from near-perfect mechanics of the moves they can do) is perfect communication. They'll never double commit or double fake (like the kickoff goal in Game 3) and all the little dump off passes happen because the bots know exactly (to the single pixel) where their teammate is and they can set up the move knowing the other team member is there. I think for that reason an *even more* physical game is needed against them, to throw off their perfect positioning

What's really interesting is how "simple" the bots bag of tricks is. It does very basic mechanical things. But, the things it does do it does to such a level of perfection that its good enough to beat pros. The biggest gap in my eyes is the 50/50 reads. The amount of times the bot 50/50 or dunked in such a way that the ball went straight into the pros net was really eye opening.

When I was watching the series live on twitch, it was hard looking at the bots air dribble bump and demo Oski consistently. He was the 2nd man most of the time and the bots were merciless against him. He was being air dribble bumped and demoed left and right.

Hi, there is one way to flag a bot, the bots themselves when inplay, they will change something that is only unique to bots. For example that colorful top. Developers can make an API available for these bots so they can change their apperance when they are in play. If a player tries to use this bot if will be flagged inmmediately. This is just an idea, the point is to make an API available for the bot developers.

I think something not spoken about, is that we talk about if a pro has time to learn the AI and it's weakness then they'll obviously win however we failed to think about what if the AI can use the pros to learn? Meaning let an AI train using pros replays and learn their habits in return? How would that turn out in turn?

Im excited for these bots to come to rocket league. Hopefully their gameplay can be dialed just like a chess engine. I think this would be a great training tool. I also am sure people have asked about 3v3. I also hope there are 3v3 Seers in the works.

I actually think Joyo and Oski did a great job against the bots. They didn't exploit the weaknesses and played it straight head to head, and still did well.

I'd love to see an online-only league for machine learning bots. It would be very fun to watch, and would ultimately end in a showoff where the winning world's team would race off against the winning bot team. Clearly, RL bots are dramatically different than FPS aimbots. Your top pro shooter stands zero chance against an aimbot. A top pro RL bot could be a very useful training method for RL pros.

U should have trk511 and Rw9 play the bots. I think it would be interesting to see the best defensive player and one of the smartest and strongest offensive players play against the bots.

One thing I'd like to note is that oxygen didnt give the bots nearly enough credit in the first 2 games and were clearly trolling in a couple instances that led to unnecessary goals

At 15k hours Joyo has spent 19.4% of the time since Rocket League released July 7, 2015 playing the game.

19.4% + 33% for sleeping + 15% on school (probably more so like 20, but holidays lowers this) = 67.7% time spent already. He has 22.3% of his life to do everything else (getting ready for school, travelling, showering, eating). Absolutely crazy stats.

When you consider that it's his career and his earnings so far total more than what most people in the UK make over the same period anyway it's not quite so absurd.

@@homeyworkey It's not absurd at all. It's his career. If you heard that an office worker had spent 20% of the last decade in the office you wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. The boy wanted to become a pro Rocket League player and to do that you need to treat it as if it's your job. If you run the numbers he has spent 4.64 hours a day on Rocket League since the game was released, which, again, is fewer than a normal job.
