army and BTS believe rap ain't just about speed. But RM back then was getting a lot of hate because his rap verses focused more on lyrics and delivery than how fast he can rap. Joke was his answer to those so called 'rappers' who only spit words fast but with lyrics like 'bibidi babidi' just to go with the rhythm and without having any actual meaning. RM's goal was to rip the K-Hiphopers who were dissing him and he did it in such a masterful way! Every line in this song is a mini context paragraph. (you should react to the lyrics of Joke) He basically set the bar so high up that no one was going to go after his rap skill again. This song is like a "stream of consciousness", and is really hard for non-Koreans to understand because Joke is full of wordplay (mostly in korean that's why) but also a slap to haters.
