Just a quick look at this very nice town. A very busy market, a ruined castle destroyed by King Charles I. This will be my last little adventure for 2023.

Thank you Michael, I purchased some of my best model railway bargains at the little toy shop in the corner of the market on my 2022 trip. Some great memories and with the castle, museum and gardens, some great reasons to return. I should much prefer to see the gardens in summer though. I do like the effects you were able to get with the 360 camera. I look forward to seeing a return to your railway. Regards, David.

I was thinking of you when I passed the toy shop and remember your purchases. I didn't know the gardens were there so shall certainly go back sometime next year. Yes, I am quite pleased with the new camera but still have a lot to learn about using it. Regards Michael

Born and grew up there. It's not what it used to be the market was much bigger growing up. Museum/ castle meadows/ Linda vista gardens/ mountains walks still lovely. The high street changed a lot and has so many cafes.

Thanks for the comment. I first visited Abergavenny in 1945 aged 4 and then many times after that and it has changed. It is a shame I didn't go on a better market day but I had other things going on. Regards Michael

@michaelchartres Tuesday used to be the big market day they used to attract all the valleys and bi's loads English in as was in the town hall and overspill of car park at the back too..but that was when the cattle market was in town opposite. They removed cattle market and built a morrisions. The museum has actually expanded as think my mam said 4 floors now as family still live there. I live in south west and my kids enjoyed castle ruins/ gardens/ museum and river on the weekend. The sugar loaf has vin yards if you like wine and holiday cottages. Not sure you had chance but next time you visit fo St Mary's church street just off cross street high St near bus stations and train station that's a real treat so much history there.

I live about half an hour from Abergavenny and my wife, Mandy, uses a dentist there so next time I'm there I shall take a look. Regards Michael

I learned how to flt Paragliders and Hang Gliders just down the road from Abergavenny. Had some great flying around there for several years in the area for the inter service competions.

It's like having a version of Google 'Street View' indoors and off-road! Co-incidentally, I am just designing some railway arches and considering adding workshops but they are quite low - having seen the toy shop etc I think that will work after all! Thanks for sharing. Mike

Thanks for sharing. Very interesting. I appreciate that I'm probably in a minority of one, but I don't like the 360 camera effects. This isn't just yours! I've passed similar comments to everyone else who is using them as they seem to be very much in fashion at the moment.

Thanks for your comment Filip. You are quite right about the camera and I am trying to learn how to get the benefits of 360 without all the strange effects. I am sure it can be done and I shall keep trying/learning. Regards Michael
