I went to the mint myself and asked them about the visit. The guide I had was on his day off the day Rick came but he said that everyone was so flustered because they didn't know how to react to Rick stealing the gold. And apparently that is actually the Mint's stapler. Nice Rick! :P

Not everything has to be serious. Rick did a great job of adding a little humour to the educational aspect of the show. Most of it isn't "childish behaviour", he makes a lot of intelligent jokes that many Canadians can understand and relate to.

I remember being in like 9th grade watching This Hour has 22 minutes. He's been a hero to me for years.. and when I found out he was gay.. I actually put him on a pedestal. @UtoPluc Like i said double strike on gold coins, The RCM makes pure gold coin, and gold without an alloy is softer then most metals so 1 time is usually enough. But what some Coin minting company will do is double stamp which means there making the coin proof which has more details then our own circulated set. They make proof coins specially for numismatics people like me. I collect anything from canadian coins to coins from USSR,Nazi Germany,Poland, Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Britain.

Search "Money as Debt" on youtube and watch the documentary. It will answer your questions and is something everyone should see...
