Have a Kawasaki Vulcan 900? You've probably had a stator or regulator failure at some. Watch Evan from RMSTATOR show you how to change out the charging system on your Vulcan. It's not a difficult job, but there's a few tricky spots in the process. The wiring harness for the Vulcan stator connects to the regulator at the front of the bike, and the bike's wiring harness under the seat, all while running behind the drive belt pulley. It's totally do-able in your garage though, so let us give you a hand.

why are you guys not de-pinning the plugs and then just pulling the wires thru? No need to cut, or to remove the pulley

Just an fyi to anyone else doing this, if ur bike is older especially, take some parts cleaner, n bath the stator cover and the pulley cover, why not. You have it all apart anyway. This is a great video.

Hi there, I did the same on my 2007 yesterday. I'm a bit of handy man. Not a mechanic by any means. The Australian version of the bike doesn't have the same backing plate, behind the pulley that you have. It's shorter. So, less work. Not need to remove it. It took me around 4 hours (by myself). I jacked the bike up and started unscrewing everything. I watched your video twice. Great help. Thanks...you rock. I ordered everything from Aliexpress in China. Under AUS$ 90 for Stator and Regulator. Changed both. It was all plug and play. I pulled the wires and plug under the seat...about middle of it, no need to remove the ignition key thingy. I also used the Original gasket as it looked like new. No leaks. Knock on wood. I did order a new gasket from Kawasaki. Will return it now. Keep up the good work and stay safe. Rob, stinkin' hot Cairns, Australia

Thanks for making this video very helpful but I thank you made a mistake. The stator grommet has a notch on the bottom so it can go under the pick up coil grommet. Just noticed this on my Vulcan there would've been a void between to two grommets that could very likely cause a leak. So anyone changing your own watch out for this and cover the grommets with small layer of RTV before assembly

Is it necessary to seal around the stator's electric wire/grommet where it exits the generator case (where oil is present). I seem to have a leak on mine only when it runs hot. I have it narrow down to that area and I plan to replace the whole gasket but am unsure about the two rubber grommet seals that protect those two harnesses.

It is a reliability upgrade over the stock type regulator.
